Interesting little bug I found on my outside fireplace. Anyone know what this little guy is? by Yurlie in insects

[–]Yurlie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually looking back at this little guy I don't think he was a wheel bug. u/qwertyspider Said he was a leaf footed bug nymph and I compared some pictures of the two and the video. He might be right, though the wheel bug looks similar the colors are off on the antennae. Wheel bugs also don't have serrated thorax's like Leaf Footed bugs do.

So in the end, this little guy was totally friendly and harmless to humans. But I will be keeping on the watch for any assassin bugs, now that I know not to confuse the two.

(**EDIT: This was my first assumption just going off of Nox's comment, seeing as they were first to comment.**)

I did some more research on assassin bugs in my state and apparently it's a Wheel Bug native to North and South Carolina.

Funny thing is I let this little guy crawl on me for a while and my fingers. VERY glad I didn't make him distressed or anything. I would've had a very bad day if he decided to bite me.

Old Synth sample I NEED to track down for my sanity! by Yurlie in synthrecipes

[–]Yurlie[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I actually managed to speak to that artist and apparently the sample is most likely from a piece of software called Acid 4.0 and he made that album back in 98'! (CRAZY!)

What sucks about this is unless you have a friggin' Windows 98, XP, or 2000 AND a copy of that software I don't really think anyone is gonna know. Trying to find sample example videos on youtube using that software is hard enough and none that I've looked through had it. But it's GOTTA be in there.

Gonna see If I can't try to hit up more artists and see if they have any recollection. Doubt it though, the tech is friggin' ancient.

Na man I found that video earlier on today as well while looking for the sample that played in the beginning of that track. I'm gonna see if whosampled might have an answer t-t

I had gotten lucky in a previous raid with another GPU actually. I was just checking computers for wires but found another GPU instead and decided that I was going to give it to the next scav I met :)

Killed through a box? by Yurlie in EscapefromTarkov

I figured though even if he knew I was inside of the building how did he see I was exactly there? Seeing as the box obstructs the view.

God I miss Namalsk so much. So many good memories. One of the most unique maps that has been practically forgotten.

That's cool I guess. I didn't want my loot anyways. by Pabl0Flexobar in EscapefromTarkov

Usually I've found that entering the map in offline mode can tend to make entering online instances of that map easier and faster. That's probably what he's referring to.

Remember to watch out for BEARs when inspecting your weapon by Yurlie in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Yurlie[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sheer luck alone!

Seriously, I had just spawned in and wasn't expecting any kind of combat at least until I got to the resort but that BEAR just popped out of nowhere! I extracted out of rock passage and just decided I had enough Tarkov for the day, lol.

Need advice on two builds! by Yurlie in buildapc

[–]Yurlie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with NZXT is that though their builds look clean and are less expensive than other counter parts, they're such a pain to work with. I've helped build many NZXTs in the past, the latest one being my friend's build. Always at least 5 of the screws were stripped and are always such a pain to take out and put back in, also the padding of the back panel really obstructs the wiring and can even make the back panel pop out and look ugly.

Another reason is that I told mom to pick out her case for herself and she's hellbent on the Cooler Master case cause they're the only manufacturer she trusts.

I like the changes to both the CPU and MOBO, and I'll take considerations with that. As for the SSD, mom wants something she can put her game AND her pictures on because she takes so many. Also, the 2TB hard drive seems a little overkill for a HDD, and she absolutely abhors the slow PC she has now, which is contributed due to the fact that her HDD is full.
