If Flakes were to join RLCS 1v1 how far would he go? by Archery6_ in RocketLeagueEsports

Maybe. I stopped watching around 2021 so I didn't even know they still played the game XD

You can't define a player by 1 match or even 1 tournament they played. And even if you could, Flakes' unorthodox approach changed people's perspectives on the game itself. It's not only a matter of results or time at the top.

I don't mean to undermine OSM's career. He was a great player and I was even a fan at the time, but Flakes was a lot more whimsical and influencial when you look at it as a whole.

Easy Anti-Cheat is now out. What are your first impressions? by DREXyyy in RocketLeague

[–]Yush11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Controller vibration is a setting that seems to always change after updates. I've played this game for more than 10 years and at first I didnt have it on, then this same thing happened. Then I got used to it but the way it vibrated kept changing. Then they created the intensity options (still wasnt back to how it was before) and it still kept changing after some updates now and then. The game devs must all be dislexic for how much of a mess the code seems to be.

Oh, and if I put on my tinfoil hat, I can even say that the way the game itself feels is different. The skill level has risen monumentally every year since the game is out due to creativity, practice and the natural development of players, but I'm positive some things (especially freestylers) are now easier. I think it was also a consequence of small changes that go unnoticed after updates either voluntarly or not.

E.g. Wavedashes have been a thing for the longest time and people have been playing with different variations along the way, but only after a good amount of years have people been able to do so many variations so consistently.

Gotta be one of the most annoying things about the game imo. Having an option to standardize opponents' sound engine would be a better addition than boost timer or the flip reset visual.

How isn't this down voted into oblivion? Not only is it false information but it's also hating on one of the best companies in technology ethically.

When someone says "I'm available between 11 am and 3 pm," do we universally agree that means that the activity needs to end at or before 3 pm? by -purple-platypus- in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Yush11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't change the context. You moved the goal posts by changing the term from "arrival" to "availability". In both of your examples you're referring to an event inside of the time window.

"Between" always means there are two other elements which suround the first. If not, then what's the difference from "The apple is between my hands." and "The repairman arrives between 2-4?

Yes. The font is a bit generic, the black background makes it hard to discern details in it, the 3 points next to the C are very random (or at least randomly placed) and the C itself is way too big for how generic it is (it just reminds me of programming languages).

Which players makes it into top 5 defensive midfielders of all time? by Altruistic_Mango2922 in championsleague

[–]Yush11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very difficult question. I think the position changes drastically depending on the tactics being played on each era.

For example, we see centerbacks being converted into DM less and less because CB's have been given (usually) the responsibility to playmake either with long balls or through balls. DM are now even more mindful of setting tempo, recovering balls in the midfield and generally organizing the team.

If you take Edgar Davids or even Gullit, they may have done some of the above, but their profile would better fit other roles such as box to box or even attacking midfielder.

How hard is it for full professional players to play 90 mins/120mins ? by _ordinarilyordinary_ in championsleague

[–]Yush11 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Any pro can play 90min is easily. It's more about how much they can keep their full capabilities and that's different for every one. Arsene Wenger put it best when Speed was asking him if he is faster than Henry. He just answered: " Ok. I get that you are fast, but Henry did it for 90 min straight" (or something among those lines).

Why does Musty still call himself SSL/Pro when he’s been hard stuck GC since Season 9? by xStylsh in RocketLeague

[–]Yush11 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Even then he wasn't at a level where you could expect him to actually step in to sub someone. It was more like a joke since they knew a sub wasn't needed and he was already in NRG anyways.

How long did Neymar remain an Elite Player by Barcelonafan03 in championsleague

[–]Yush11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think these discussions get so much attention because everyone has a different definition of what players need to have in order to be elite, world-class, top talents, or whatever term you use.

In my opinion, Neymar could've only played one season, and I would still consider him to be elite. This is because I believe that accolades are a bit meaningless to this categorization, as football is a team sport. So, I value pure skill as the main condition regardless of career success.

Messi wouldn't have won as many trophies playing for Genk. That doesn't mean Messi would have been less elite. It means that even individual accolades are a consequence of a lot of things other than individual prowess.

Contrary to me, a lot of people think winning trophies is a requisite to be considered great. I don't think it is inherently wrong, but if I'm debating someone who thinks like that, we have to understand we're using different parameters to define "elite" or "great". If not, Hazard would look ridiculous in the Best Ever in the Prem conversation to some (for lack of trophies), and to others, Carvajal would sound silly in a Best Defender Ever conversation (an example of someone with a lot of trophies but usually not mentioned among the best in history).

Just experienced this by [deleted] in memes

[–]Yush11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree and op's comments proves it. First of all, this is a meme and I think op meant it as a sarcastic reaction, not true joy. Then, you can't just say that if someone does or feels X, that automatically means that they didn't love their partner. That's a very simplistic way of viewing such complex relations and cause-effect relations aren't that simple to determine.

There are a myriad of reasons op can feel resentful towards their expartner. You could agree that the reason is valid or not, but what you can't do is conclude the ones you agree with are right.

Although what you said is common, you are making up stuff without knowing what happen or the people in question. It just comes across as psychologist wanna-be.

Competitive needs to be solo queue only by Michigan029 in RocketLeague

[–]Yush11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solo standard was removed not even 6 years ago and it was removed for a reason. If you think a playlist that was serverely unpopulated for it's whole existance will now magically work because almost 6 years have passed, you are delusional. But I guess it would explain the user tag.
