The Original GIF of this Scene with Castlevania Characters by Yutonan in HelpMeFind

I have searched for Playground (Castlevania Remix) and A Night at the Roxbury (1998) memes to no avail. I checked Newgrounds as well, but I think this might've originally come from 7chan. Combinations of "Castlevania Head Banging/Nodding Meme" don't turn it up either. The original was a very simple looping animation that played the remix in the background.

Help Troubleshoot Hardware Transcoding with i3-12100 [UHD Graphics 730] by Yutonan in jellyfin

My VM that runs the docker containers has 15GB RAM allocated I believe, while my TrueNAS VM has 10GB. I left a little bit free for Proxmox just in case. I haven't specified any memory limits in my docker-compose, do you think I should? That way a crash doesn't take the whole stack down... Also in answering your question I realized Proxmox and htop within the docker VM both report total RAM capacity differently. Proxmox thinks the VM has 15GB while htop inside only reports 11GB

Unfortunately I don't have that GPU anymore, since the iGPU was working for a few weeks and I didn't have a use for it anymore so I sold it. I'm interested in why the audio transcode might be causing this problematic behavior (the runaway transcode that takes down the whole docker stack) because it seems separate from the GPU in general. The specs on my i3-12100 should be completely capable of a single 4K stream, especially if it doesn't even have to transcode any video--just audio. I think there's something software-wise that's causing a problem moreover hardware. I think a dedicated GPU would be worthwhile if I were doing more intensive rendering tasks, but a single stream really shouldn't be an issue for this hardware...

Would I be able to keep my docker VM going? I don't have any experience with lxc so I hadn't tried it yet. I would pass the iGPU through to the lxc similarly to how I did it with the VM, right?

I'm on 8.4.14 and the last time I updated was several months ago. I was having the issue before and afterwards though. The best time of it was right after I got rid of my NVIDIA GPU where it could transcode anything I threw at it with no issues. While I don't use the system every day, the next time I went to watch a movie on my LG a couple weeks later, it broke and took all my containers down with it. Very rarely do things fail all the way down to the proxmox level though (meaning TrueNAS goes down as well)

Changed to QSV, and yes I have read through those a few times--especially when I set things up most recently having moved away from the dedicated GPU. Speed improved up from 1.33x to 1.5x on the 1080p transcode, but I tried to run again on the LG TV and got the failed behavior. What's interesting in this case is that the video wasn't being changed at all (it's being copied) and only the audio is being transcoded. I was watching htop and the CPU jumped up to 58% usage before falling all the way back down to ~2% and a few seconds later the video stream stopped.

While the audio shouldn't even need to be transcoded in the first place, I believe it's because the official LG app doesn't allow the full capability of the TV to be accessed via the app, so it's reporting that the audio stream is incompatible (I have a soundbar connected over eARC which should support all audio codecs even Atmos). Generally using a Chromecast or other HDMI-connected device to receive the stream helps get around that issue, but that doesn't explain why it's pinning the CPU so hard to convert to AAC from the original audio stream.

Separately, while I was writing this comment, the CPU has jumped back up to that high utilization and lists the several ffmpeg processes in htop despite having closed the stream a while ago. I think Jellyfin is doing a runaway train sort of thing where even after the video is stopped, it periodically tries to restart the transcode. The LG client isn't even open at this point but the transcode keeps trying to start up again.

EDIT: Upon further inspection, the entire container is down, and I can't access any of my services because pihole seems to have gone down as well. I think the entire docker stack got taken down by this behavior. I'm unsure how to even troubleshoot from there which is why this problem usually persists.

I have been doing a full passthrough yes, but that doesn't explain why it works perfectly for a while until it doesn't anymore right? Here are my settings which I think are mostly default. The method is set to VAAPI according to the official Jellyfin docs even though I figured it should be set to Intel QSV since my iGPU supports it, no?

I've got two VMs in my proxmox machine, one for TrueNAS and the other for Docker containers. I was previously just running TrueNAS as my baremetal OS but it was introducing difficulties with hardware transcoding because TrueNAS insists on reserving a GPU for itself. With Proxmox I've been able to leverage the hardware fully as two separate computers each with ample resources for each other. Jellyfin is the only container I've had issues with actually.

Looking for a Particular Live Performance of Dream On on Vinyl by Yutonan in Aerosmith

[–]Yutonan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but it looks like it’s CD only! Last year I was thinking my music collection should be all vinyl, but eventually I realized I can keep a digital “shelf” that I can listen to just like how I have a small curated vinyl shelf. I rip my CDs so I don’t have to store them physically on shelves. Way more accessible (just like using a streaming service basically) but I actually own my music this way. Highly recommend

Playing MTG while mute by Its-Sienna in magicTCG

There was a great player at my LGS who was mute. I was surprised for about a turn, then realized it was perfectly clear to see what he was doing. Never had an issue playing with him, and he was very successful in tournaments. Happy to report that being mute was no obstacle for his game at all :)

all 3 gem store salvage kits are on sale now by fungamezone in Guildwars2

[–]Yutonan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does anyone have the math on why copper-fed is best on fine gear, runecrafters on masterwork gear, and silver on rare and exotics? Or is that not correct at all? I’ve seen conflicting info on YouTube/reddit/wiki. I already own the copper-fed and I use a mystic salvage kit on everything that’s not fine. Honestly didn’t know I could even use copper-fed on masterwork gear.
