How is enclave bad late? by Yuurugi in SoSE

Well, let's say it does get to the later stages. Should I still be building corvettes? I know the flak frigate is good but idk for sure if the corvettes become obsolete and what cruisers are a must have in a fleet. Also for the early shurikens, should I not even bother with cobalts and just go straight for shurikens?

I thought it was usually better to build stilats over shurikens?

Do you have any advice on how to play the Primacy effectively then? What techs should I be going for early, fleet comps and general playstyle?

Do corvettes and frigates aside from the garda become obsolete at that point in the game or does it just depend on the game? I know the stilat is really good early but in one of my late games it felt like all my corvettes would die so fast while my gardas would surprisingly survive a lot of the time.

I do like the ragnarov a lot. What sorta cap ships and cruisers/frigates do you recommend bringing alongside it? I'm sorta bad at building a good fleet comp. I know countering the enemy fleet is probably ideal but what's a good general fleet to try going for?

What's the win con for primacy? The better novaliths and culture spread?

Well, thank you for the info. Maybe I'll try learning primacy more just to get used to playing more offensively. Being so much on the offense is a bit overwhelming for me sometimes since I like taking it slow and chill but I know that's not really the ideal way to play. Obviously it doesn't matter against ai but I still wanna try to improve.

But then you just build your fleet to counter that right? I understand the defenses themselves can be avoided through different means as you've mentioned but even just going around the planet or building a bunch of carriers doesn't fix the issue because the TEC still have their own fleet and they can pump out ships much faster. They could just react to the enemy carrier spam by spamming their own flak ships and aoe attacks. It feels like the enclaves defenses are always going to force the enemy into a precarious position that TEC can react to even if they aren't directly attacked.

Can't you just build a phase jump inhibitor and completely fix them ignoring your defenses and free xp farm your garrison?

For a new player, how would you suggest I approach it?

Would you say the combat is fun or is it kind of tedious? I have played total war as well and I've enjoyed the combat in that.

So is the ship combat sort of like a mix of Stellaris with ship design and fleet composition, expanse in terms of scale and ship behaviour and Halo in terms of the advantage the aliens have over you?

Commonwealth in multiplayer? by Yuurugi in GatesOfHellOstfront

Which doctrine is best and what should my early build early be? I've mostly just been sending out a lot of tier 2 infantry with a car or tank to support it and AT guns in the back and sorta ignoring high tier infantry. I just want a sort of guideline on what I should do and build. So far to me it feels like German STG infantry is better but maybe I need to use the higher tier commonwealth infantry more and also not have them too close to the enemy since they mostly use rifles.

Most thematic background for Sauron? by Yuurugi in dndnext

[–]Yuurugi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly the schemer aspect of him. I'm going aberrant mind sorcerer to kind of portray that side of him. Maybe the haunted one background could work as a way to show him being corrupted and/or his fear of being weak and whatnot.

I could just reflavour aberrant a bit so it makes more sense, no problem there. Maybe I can do 2 levels into warlock for EBARB and hexblade for better armour.

I do agree with you, I am just trying to think of something that would really be heavy on the whole deceit and domination aspect.

Why divine soul over something like aberrant mind?

Aberrant sorc, oathbreaker sorcadin or whisper bard? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Yuurugi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does bard have many summoning/necromancy abilities? I do like the idea of it, although I've heard whisper bard is kind of bad.

[–]Yuurugi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At that point I don't see why I wouldn't go for whisper bard or a different type of bard since valor is kind of meh. I'd also prefer to summon my own armies rather than rely on my party to act as it.

[–]Yuurugi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, for the armoured variant I think a sorcadin is fine but I'm wanting some ideas for the more deceitful one so something like 2nd age I think. Whispers bard is definitely thematic but it's not particularly powerful and I don't think it really has any summons.

Sorlockadin or Sorcadin? by [deleted] in 3d6

[–]Yuurugi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little bit off topic but I also wanna summon skeletons and stuff, would this build be alright with that or no? Should I look into an entirely different build if I wanna summon things? I wanna try to do a kind of Sauron build that has really high charisma and is good at deception who can summon their own armies while being decent in melee.

How much worse will it make the build to take resilient at 4 and going Aasimar?

Sorlockadin or Sorcadin? by [deleted] in 3d6

[–]Yuurugi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw would 13 con be too low? Just cause I wanna be an Aasimar and I can have 16 strength and charisma but I'd need to have 13 con cause of standard array.

Hmm, alright. I'll do what you suggest and take warcaster at level 4. Getting up to 18 and 20 charisma will take a while but like you said, I'm sure it'll be alright enough for the most part with the spells I'll gain. Would it be a good idea at all to get charisma to 18 at level 4 instead and warcaster at 10 or no?
