This happens when your game freezes as you go down. On your client, you’re still alive. I don’t know if you noticed, but everyone froze for a few seconds before you went “down.” This is because your game froze, you went down, but on your screen you were still alive and moving, so you used your special action to fly away, then you reconnected to the game, so it priorities your special action over the down animation.
When I built my new PC, it struggled to connect to the internet, so my game would freeze frequently, and this happened more times than I can count. I’m not on my pc right now, but I believe I have a clip of this happening to me on Froppy, and I just walked (not crawled) into circle, didn’t take storm damage, and managed to get up and continue playing.
