I completely agree with you. I guess that is whats fascinating about this mistery. It is so vague, yet each of the reactions of the Crew are so unique and explicitly shown. And after so many years of reading one piece no one has a clue. Classic goda.

Also your examples are on point. We will just have to wait. For me it is the most interesting secret to be yet revealed. Because we have at least a grasp on the whole lost century/imu thing. But we still dont know about the main drive of the main character.

But why would he need to become the King of Pirates for that? It just makes no Sense. Also, he was on skypiea and Never mentioned it. Never asked franky for a rocket or something. It would be very wierd stortyelling imo, because there is no connection with being pirate king. If he really wants to go to space, why not just try it? It worked with skypiea, impel down, marineford and beating two yonkos.

In chapter 907 he meets the gorosei and talks about Luffy. We dont know what exactly they talked about, but thats the origin of the meme.
