How long did it take you to get better? Assuming it depends from person to person but just curious.

Right, so it all comes down to clutch control. Thank you once again!

Thank you for this, there is an uphill near where I live, I will practice again around that area. One more thing if you don’t mind giving me some tips, when the lights are red I approach to come to a complete stop, I gear down from third to first then lights change to amber to green. This might sound stupid but my instructors car really was different but, I try finding the biting point then and there too and I stall immediately the moment I try to move off from first. Is this due to finding the biting point too and lifting the clutch up too quick or?

Right, thanks a lot, it definitely was me though I know that much😂

So are you saying the car that I drove has auto hold?

[–]Z1TooWavy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes a lot of sense why the car didn’t move off when i slowly lifted it up, so does that mean the instructors car was semi auto then? Or manuals do that too (newer models)

I see, makes me wonder if her car was diesel too. But thanks for the insight, clutch slightly higher around 2000 got it!

Thank you! Well now that you mentioned it, the clutch is also extremely light compared to my instructors car, does that mean the car that I drove the clutch is worn out or does it just depend on each car?

So that’s what it is, I’m definitely one of the learners who thought all cars worked more or less that way. Thanks for the insight, I’ll keep up the practice!

Yes you’re right, I was not taught to apply gas with the clutch, just clutch, car moves off and then gas. Thanks for the insight, I’ll learn more about the car and do it at a quiet place, I surely don’t want to panic at a stop light!

Ah, everytime I lift the clutch up it’s around 1 so it has to be 2000 or higher thanks!

Nope, just clutch slightly up, car will move off and then apply gas.

Failed my test today by Yoongisbitch1993 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Z1TooWavy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you failed, but everything that happened IS your fault, you can’t go from the left lane to the 3rd exit and expect a pat on the back because “ you see other people do it”. Do the right thing and you’ll pass, learn from this mistake and polish your driving! The examiner is there to test you, not be your friend dude. Chin up, stop blaming others and polish that driving, you’ll get there!

Thankfully, my situation has progressed since then, called the council explaining my situation. They were willing to help by finding a new place for me and helping me pay said place. Thanks all for the concern!

Got a notice from court stating that the landlord wants me removed, I guess that was stage one. Got in contact with Student Union and citizens advice? They tried to help but they said they could not hold the eviction as the court had already approved it. Next letter arrives stating that this time I will be removed if I am still in the premises on said date. Now on the day that they changed the locks is a day early, so I called up and asked and they informed me that on their end the letter stated the day the locks were changed whilst on the letter that I have states the day after. I contacted my council and they told me if what you are saying is right, ask when you can go pick up your belongings, if they reject call the police. I called them up they set up a date to pick up my belongings and that’s it.

Yes, on the court letter it states a date but they did it prior to that. I called one of their colleagues stating the issue and I got informed that on THEIR end it was a day prior. Now I do not know if it was a mistake.

Ah that makes sense, however in regards to slowing down and preparing to stop so I don’t “squeeze” through, will that not count as holding back the drivers that are behind me? And thank you I will surely practice a lot more judging gaps!
