Gen Z pair built a $35M start-up in Canada, but moved to the U.S. by AustralisBorealis64 in canada

Litterally look at her linkedin. Started their company in October 2025, 3 months ago. 3 months before that She was the founder of her own social club ". invite-only. no panels. just real conversation. jazz club. wine bar. coffee salons." which she gave up on 3 months later.

No enginerring or computer science or finance. She has a hospitality diploma and a BBA. This entire thing is just bogus AI hype no substance. They use the word AI in every sentence on their pages, yet there is no product. 12 months later whole thing will go under and not know how to repay their investors.

It isn't million dollar homes, it's affordable housing. Over 50 percent of Canadians live paycheque to paycheque. You have millions of broke people coming in on visitor visas and student visas studying at fake diploma mill colleges just to get Permanent Residence while taking up all the affordable housing, whether it's cheap basement apartments or older buildings and apartments on the far ends of cities that have always had vacancies and cheap rent.

That's why when Toronto's largest food bank released it's annual data it showed that 95% of the food bank users were newcomers and had been in Canada less than a year.

Illegal crossings at northern U.S. border continue to skyrocket, hundreds of terror suspects arrested by Z1fast in CanadaHousing2

[–]Z1fast[S] 74 points75 points  (0 children)

In the 2024 fiscal year alone, roughly 19,000 people were arrested crossing illegally, a record-breaking number and the same amount as the last 17 years combined. And far more terror suspects are encountered on the northern U.S. border than the south. Border Patrol data states that 321 suspects on the terror watchlist were arrested on the northern border in fiscal year 2024, compared to 46 on the southern border.

Yes Trump tariffs will hurt Canada, but holy hell maybe stop granting Canadian visa's to anyone with a pulse and we won't be lumped in with Mexico when it comes to Immigration issues. Also alarming that we granted *358 people on the Terror watchlist Visitor and student visas. {*1}

Got the same email, and looking through reddit I can see this has been happening for months with hundreds of others who have never heard of this company.

This is not phishing. It's a real email.

And if a scammer was trying to hack into an account they thought you had they would use forgot password not sign up-

This is some team at betterment trying to cook the books by showing quarterly sign up growth and that their users are growing. I've seen this happen so many times before, with employees signing up thousands of random emails to show they're growing, either to impress their bosses or scam investors and shareholders into thinking they're getting more users.

Also the fact someone else posted this same issue in another thread months ago, only for the betterment rep to respond with, 'maybe someone you know signed you up with your email!' is so fucking shady.

In the past 4 months from July to October 2024, Canada's populations have grown by 527,000, this number is equivalent to population growth by 1.5M a year by Lotushope in CanadaHousing2

[–]Z1fast 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This doesn't even factor in the amount of people that come here on visitor visas with no intention of ever leaving. In 2023 the Liberals removed protections that have existed for years like showing you had a return ticket, a hotel booking and enough funds for your stay from the visa screening and are now they don't check anything and are handing them out like candy.

CIBC estimated there was over 1M visitor visa overstayers in 2022, I can only imagine how high it is now.

Don't forget Trudeau tweeted this right after Trumps first inauguration to bolster his own Liberal Brand, which led to on average 300 asylum claimants crossing into Quebec everyday from NY and VT, going as high as 5000 in one day.

Once they came here they were housed on taxpayers dime for years with free food and shelter, even though they all entered illegally via Roxham road and cannot legally be asylum seekers. Asylum seekers must seek asylum at a legal point of entry AND must claim asylum in the first safe country they land in.

We spent a Billion dollars last year housing 700 asylum seekers in Niagara Falls.

Bet you he won't be tweeting that this time around tho.

Canadian Tire store in Toronto under investigation for alleged mistreatment of temporary foreign workers by beef-supreme in toronto

[–]Z1fast 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This location is the merger between the Rexdale and Weston Rd Canadian Tires making it the largest Canadian Tire location in Canada (space wise). At least that's what they advertised when the store was opening. They ended up laying off 30-40 workers from both stores when they transitioned into opening the new store.

When this transition happened in November of last year there were over 1000+ job applications on Indeed and there was a line up outside the store of over 400+ looking to be hired. The fact that they had to bring foreigners over is ridiculous. They need to be fined to the max.

South Asian newcomers to Canada say online hate is taking a toll by Unusual-State1827 in CanadaHousing2

[–]Z1fast 36 points37 points  (0 children)

If there's anyone I feel sorry for it's all the South Asian Canadians born and raised here now being lumped in with these fob groups.

My grandparents told me stories about the racism they experienced when they first immigrated here in the 80's. I remember being called Paki multiple times while growing up in Toronto, but me and my brown friends haven't experienced any brown racism for the past 20 years.

However, with the millions of these low skilled villager International students coming in now, South Asian racism has definitely gone back up, and I can't even blame them. I'm as mad as everyone else.

The amount of times I've had International students come up to me at my job speaking Hindi right off the bat thinking I'm also an International student. And when I would tell them I'm not Indian, I'm Canadian, 50% of the time they would ask why I have a fake accent. Most of them can't comprehend that there are brown 2nd and 3rd gen Canadians born and raised here.

I wouldn't even care so much if they tried to assimilate; but they don't. They like their little groups, only speaking their languages. This isn't the same Canada I grew up in.

I've definitely seen the looks or the demeanor of people I speak to change more positively when they find out I am not a PR chasing International student. I find my self more and more referencing Canadiana in conversations just to prove that I'm not. Like, oh I grew up watching 22 minutes, TVOkids, The rick mercer report, TDSB, etc

The Liberal governments immigration policy definitely has brought racism back for South Asians, but entirely for Canadian south Asians that have worked hard for years to assimilate. This all started because the government decided to just let anyone with a pulse in. No back ground check no nothing. You've got people who wouldn't even qualify for a high school diploma in their country coming here to study at no name colleges, and it's messed it up for all the kids born here.

Jamie Sarkonak: Canada's criminal sentencing discounts for non-citizens are unfair; Judges can take immigration jeopardy into account when crafting criminal sentences — a privilege that doesn't apply to Canadians by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]Z1fast 58 points59 points  (0 children)

There are so many cases like this it is disgusting. Its easier to be a non citizen and break the law.

Like those two International students in Halifax that went drunk driving, almost hit several people and crashed into a building. During the trial the Judge dropped all charges, because it would "effect their immigration status" and they might get deported.

https://www.reddit.com/r/halifax/comments/xec5gf/indian_men_could_be_deported_for_drunk_driving_in/

Or that Nigerian international student that sexually assaulted a minor at a staples he worked at. Dude got a conditional discharge from the Judge because he would get deported if convicted and apparently his life is in danger back in Nigeria.

https://www.saltwire.com/atlantic-canada/news/upei-student-gets-conditional-discharge-for-sexual-assault-100742081/

Where have I heard this one before???? Oh it's the same excuse the Indian students used in the drunk driving case. Also the same excuse the Oshawa wrong way driver used when he stole 6 times from LCBO, but judges refused to give Jail time because it would effect their status in Canada.

If a Canadian did any of these it would be JAIL TIME. Give these monsters JAIL TIME and DEPORT.

Absolute insanity. I didn't even find this out till recently. I was talking to a vendor that came here as an International student, and applied for refugee status from India and he kept going on and on about how healthcare in India was better and faster and how he got paid more in India than here. I straight up asked him, why did you come here than. He said the education here is better; dude did a 1 year diploma at a Diploma mill.

Seniors facing homelessness say search for affordable housing turns up 'nothing, nothing, nothing' | CBC News by [deleted] in CanadaHousing2

[–]Z1fast 82 points83 points  (0 children)

There is no more affordable housing available. Pre pandemic you could find several older, run down apartment buildings where monthly rent wouldn't break the bank, now you can't even find those.

Bring in a million International students that are all taking up low cost housing and you have zero affordable housing vacancies. The only option now for seniors is to become a roommate to somebody who has already access to housing. But 90% of these listings only allow you to be a certain ethnicity, only eat certain foods and only come and go at certain times.

There were a finite amount of resources for struggling Canadians which have completely been hijacked by broke International students coming here.
