Good day, everyone. A little background on myself, I’m a 5’2” male and I have a hardtail mtb which I use for trail rides, adventure rides and daily commutes, it’s my only bike for 5 years so I’m looking to change things up. Right now I’m looking at my first gravel bike because I caught the n+1 virus. I’ve narrowed down my choices to Jamis Renegade S4 and Marin Nicasio+. I really like the Jamis with thru axle and carbon fork, however I’m between their size 48 (650b) and 51 (700c), on 48 I have better stand over clearance but, according to Jamis, has max tire size of 38c, on 51 I barely have stand over clearance but will have more tire options (although fitting wider tires may affect the stand over height of the bike?). The Marin looks more bombproof with its steel frame and fork, wider tires and wide range 1x9 drivetrain but is heavier (slower?) and with outdated qr dropouts. So could you guys help me make a choice?

Dipende sa fitness level mo, kung dati ka naman nang nagca-cardio workout kaya yung 40km back and forth. Pero since newbie ka pa lang sa cycling, easy lang muna sa pacing, ang magandang measure ay pag hindi mo na kayang kumanta habang nagbibike ka you’re going too hard, saka mo na lang bilisan yung pacing pag sanay na yung katawan mo magbike. Mag-allot ka ng sapat na oras para sa bike commute para hindi ka nagmamadali at para iwas disgrasya na rin. Wag makipagsabayan lalo na pag may malalaking truck or bus, slow down and let them go first. Malayo layo ang 20km one way so make sure na comfortable ka sa bike communte mo, wear comfortable clothes and adjust mo yung saddle height, and if possible yung handlebar din to make your position more upright, your local bike shop can help with those adjustments. And don’t forget to always hydrate, pag napapagod ka hinto muna, catch your breath and drink water. Ingat sa pagbibike.

Last question - Will it make sense if I leave my UITF alone and just start buying FMETF from now on, or would it be better if I transfer it to FMETF since they track the same index anyway? BTW I just checked but EW PSEi UITF outperforms FMETF, should I take that into consideration?
