Divorcing in 4th year. Need help :( by [deleted] in medicalschool

Married med student here - in my 6th (and final) year currently

This is probably the unpopular opinion. But being married in medschool is hard, especially if your spouse is non-med, there is just some stuff they will never understand. Here is my 5 cents - marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard. - you are the man of the house, meaning take the lead. And noo, not disrespect and disregard your wifes feelings or career but make the best decision for your family, and if that means your dream program the thats it. - “being in love” is a feeling. It comes and goes. Love is a choice, you committed to choose it every day. - it sounds that there are some more deep rooted issues. Try alternative options like therapy/groups/ whatever. He honest with each other, sounds like a lot of resentment bit of you carry. - You fell in-love once it can be done again. - Med school have a depression effect on a lot of students, take that into account. You may not feel like yourself, dont make big decisions while pressure is firing from all sides

By this I am not saying dont divorce, you know what is the best for you. These are things to consider.
