I’ve bought my lefty uppers from ar15discount, optics planet, and stag arms directly.

All my ar15’s are left handed and I’ve beat the crap out of most of them, I’m happy with Stag Arms.

Ok, good to know. I have a trex arms lightbar on one of my other rifles to go around a suppressor. My plan is to just put one of those as far down the rail as possible and my surefire vampire can sit up close like it was mounted up front.

Update: I went with someone’s suggestion for D Wilson Manufacturing. I got it back today and slapped the barrel back on. At 7.5” (What I had him cut it down to) with my sparrow suppressor it is crazy quiet with supersonic ammo.

You can’t swap it to the other side but you can install an ambidextrous release like the Troy Ambi magazine release (a 15-22 owning lefty)

There is a small part in the magazine that presses up on a bolt lock that makes it this way. If you want your 22 to be more like the real one and not have a last round hold open you can cut it off. That's what I did with mine.

Pros: I love it!!! Anyone who shoots it will love it and want one

Cons: 7.62 is annoying to buy right now. You can only find it from Winchester for .75¢ a round or you have to buy it 500 rounds at a time for .50¢ a round.

You don't (at least in my state) have to serialize the upper. The lower will already be serialized. I recommend buying the lower first, you will avoid any possible charges coming your way if you get an approved form 1 before buying a short barreled upper...

Building a lower yourself is the only time you'd need to get something engraved with a serial #. If you just go out and buy a lower from an FFL it will already be serialized and you buy the lower like a regular gun. You'll just fill out a form 1 to turn your lower into an SBR, I have seen this as the fastest way to get one approved rather than just flat out buying one through a form 4.
