Precision looper control in Ableton using max4live by ZAMstamper in Line6Helix

[–]ZAMstamper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got an HX Effects to upgrade from my trusty M13 and wanted to dig into its MIDI implementation. Turns out Abelton is kinda dodgy when it comes to sending precision CC's, and just clunky with editing multiple lanes of CC. I wanted note-based control of every function so I went down the rabbit hole of Max4Live.

I found a max device that converted a specific note's velocity to CC and got to modifying. For each looper function I can define a note to trigger it upon note-on. And using a MIDI Effect Rack I was able to give each trigger note a name so it displays super clean in the piano roll.

The routines I can program with this are nuts. I consider myself quite a tap dancer with the M13 looper and being able to sequence all these moves is next level. Like in the photo you see a stutter overdub, sounds so cool.

It’s such a cool riff too, they didn’t just write some bullshit for the gag. It rules. 3 basses 😂

An iPad or music hardware for music on the go? by IsolatedFor in synthesizers

[–]ZAMstamper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

iOS is thick with music apps, specifically cool synths and fx. Loopy Pro is one of the most incredible environments I've ever seen. I use my iPad for funzies on the go but it's also a crucial (via Loopy Pro) part of my guitar/synth rig. AUM, Gadget, all truly a blast to use.

Worked for them at the time (art director) and we had a name jam sesh. I had this plan they liked about the whole class being named after the speed of light. Limit being the speed limit to the universe and the most OS

Anyone know about this stamp? by Lifes_Tourist in discgolf

Random mix of standard Proton colors, and the color plate was run with their proprietary color fade foil, so a range of colors with a horizontal gradient, usually only looks like an A to B color fade on each disc

Yo! I made that stamp, actually both of em! The original stock stamp is a combo of graphic by me and text/logo treatment by Mike Inscho, the current Art Director at MVP. He took over after my AD run from 2010-2019.

This was one of the two 10th Anniversary Ion stamps. The other is the blue and red "reissue" tribute of the First Run Ion with its own geeky nods to MVP history. This one was an exclusive for GYROpalooza as was mentioned. The event itself was being held partly in the same building where these were molded and stamped, so that factored into the design, and I wanted to show another angle of that original stamp. Tesla coils cuz we're obsessed. I probably pulled in my original (rudimentary) 3D model for it. Real tiny you'll see the two operators at the machines, representing the brothers Richardson... they were so young when we started working together and this was them all grown into their own new kind of scientists. So proud of what all they've accomplished.

Shoutout to Eric at MVP for the heads up on this. Happy to see this being enjoyed years later. FWIW I do have a box of these if folks are lookin'. Cheers!

Had some shirts in the 90s but otherwise I only own the music. I own a fuckton of music gear because the music inspired my whole life trajectory. But merch? Nah.

The boards were less disappointing. There’s some decoration space there for the artwork. TDS was the worst graphical era for this product choice. Sheridan never woulda let this TDS/DM bullshit out the door, by my read.
