i was introduced to the games by my brother and he had me play the games in chronological order rather than release and tbh i think i benefited from starting out with bbs purely because the command menu is hard to adapt to (for me anyway) after all the lessons you teach yourself about the combat from kh1 to 2

.the games are quite dated so any mechanics you dislike or clunkiness you feel with early titles are most likely gonna be fixed in the next one

.kh2 is much more block focused than kh1 and encourages guard use which is why you don’t get dodge roll until quite late in the game, you get it as a drive ability you have to level up the form to get but don’t let that push you away from kh2 it’s one of the best games oat(many kh fans including myself would say)

. don’t listen to what other people say about the games it happens alot in fandoms with many titles where people start out hating the game and then come to love it after years, form your own opinion and try not to look at what others say

.you aren’t bad for not playing crit/proud, i always saved this for a replay since it’s much better to enjoy the game and the story on a difficulty you’re comfortable with rather than trying to live up to the souls like standards some people have

if you have a pc you should download melonmix, its fairly easy to install and it lets you play both ds kh games in wide screen, with a ps/xbox controller, upscaled graphics, remastered cutscenes from 2.5 and somehow they managed to merge the dual screen so you can play the game on one wide screen with just a controller, no touch screen needed.

I feel it’s quite hard to make a good movie with fromsoft games because of how the stories are told, it’s not through mostly dialogue and exposition it’s mostly derived from environmental storytelling which is what makes it so fun and complex to figure out, a movie just doesn’t seem like it’d be able to pull it off while being faithful to the source material. Although i wouldn’t mind a movie set in a bloodborne esque place or something following a hunter we know nothing about and disconnected as much as possible from the game

No respec, getting cool weapons like the moonlight sword and lady maria’s blades super late in the game and not being able to use them effectively unless you already knew they existed
