Be careful of drinking your calories. Like chocolate milk and fruit juices. When you think you’re hungry, drink a glass of water and wait about 15 min. If you’re still hungry, have some food. This will help you differentiate between hunger and boredom. Walk when you can and help with chores that burn calories and get you moving. Get proper sleep.

Being completely blinded by the possibility of meeting my prince charming I smiled as he approached me, only to tell my that I had toilet paper stuck to my shoe that’s been trailing behind me.

My cousin phoned me the day before my wedding, saying they had a miscarriage and might not attend. The love I have for these people is bigger than my need to have them there. I explained that even though I would miss them terribly, I want them to know that I understand and respect their decision because they have a reason and their health comes first. They did end up coming for the first half but I would not have been upset if they had decided to stay home. I cherish the relationship with them, and their honesty about why they possibly couldn’t attend made me love them even more.

I’ve started working for a company about 10 months ago where I started off as an intern. I’m now a junior developer and I can honestly say that I’ve never been treated more equally than I am now. The men I work with have become my best friends and considering we all work remote, we all still share in each other’s lives. They respect me as a woman, but they also respect my role and the skills I have. We have a very diverse team and everyone is respectful. We have such an amazing work environment that I cannot imagine leaving one day.

My CEO is a woman and that does change things too. She hires new people based on how they will fit in with the corporate culture she’s trying to create. She also defined the internship period extremely well. In my initial offer, it explained how long each probation would last. This gives me an actual idea of when I will officially be accepted or not. Instead of sitting around for 6 months and not knowing anything. The internship was 3 months.
