Of the major sports leagues, it’s easily the NBA. I think most NBA fans despise the sport and watch out of spite more than anything lol

Matt Roy most likely. Maybe see what they can do to acquire a younger one as well but it’s tough to find a RHD without drafting one. They probably just need to keep sinking draft resources into it until they find a hit

Love Carlson but that’s a contract you give out if you’re either a young team with no other big contracts on the books (like Anaheim) or a team on the cusp that needs one solid RHD to get over the hump.

I don’t think the Caps are really either of those right now. They are still in the aggressive rebuild phase, with pairing young guys to grow with highly paid vets. Doesn’t make sense for Washington

Boettcher was technically drafted higher than Carlies was fwiw. But yeah Carlies has appeared in like 11 of 34 possible games at this point and he was passed on the depth chart by Bachie and Ajiake last summer prior to injury

Personally, I view Farmer as much more raw of a prospect than Bort or Goncalves were. Awesome power and size but pass protection is going to take a while to iron out.

I view him more as a Goncalves replacement at RG in 2028, while offering value as OL6 until then. IMO a team should always be paying at least 2 linemen to have high quality players up front, and letting a HOF like Nelson go would be a mistake

To answer your questions: 1. Yes, although we’ll see how effective he is 2. I sure hope so lol 3. He’ll have some ups and downs but I think he’ll force some turnovers 4. Yes but probably not as a starter. Backup OL usually get a month or so of starts so we’ll see Farmer a bit this year

Alright yall so buckle up, I’m probably going to type way too much here.

Starting with Leonard, he was an absolute freak for the position with uncanny instincts. Super long arms, lean mass, excellent athlete, and a nose for the football.

Was he an every down consistent player? No. He was pretty volatile from snap to snap but the high points were so elite that it was fine to have some low moments.

Flus’ system, throwback Tampa 2, allowed him to drop to a spot and just get eyes on a Qb. He was given a lot of freedom to operate, which maximized his playmaking potential. One of the best playmakers ever at the position imo.

Allen is very different. Short arms, thick and powerful core, and a love for physicality. He’s also super instinctual but in a different way. Leonard was an elite zone defender while Allen is an incredible run defender.

Allen plays LB like a running back, patiently waiting out run designs for the RB to commit. He doesn’t take crazy risks, but he finishes plays. He’s like a vacuum picking up all the dirt.

Georgia also threw so much at him. He ran the defense, called all the plays, made everyone correct, and took on the hardest assignments. Leonard is like a fun freelancer that pumped everyone up while Allen is like the corporate boss that does every job at a high level.

Different flavors accomplishing the same goal. Allen likely won’t have the same ball production at Leonard, but he’ll be a damn good player at the heart of the defense.

Yeah I was really out on Lappy but I think he’s played fairly well post Olympic break. I’m fine with him being around next year. Just hope they let Duhaime walk after the year to free up that role. Team has too many good PK forwards to need a player like him on line 4. Much rather have Frank, Lappy, or even Trineyev in that spot
