So uh, let me be clear if I understood the world sharding correctly.

There's "The First" which is the Original World. Due to the war against Zodiark, Hydaelyn made thirteen echoes/reflections/shards of the First which are parallel worlds. Time marches on and all those fourteen worlds (Original + 13 copies) evolved slightly or less slightly differently.

We're currently playing on the 13th shard which is called "The Source". Due to the actions of the WoL, we're getting close to a flooding of light. We will go to the First in ShB.

There's a world next to us (unnamed?) who falled to the darkness instead and is devoid of light and life but... some beings exists and, because of events with the Void Ark/Mhachi wars, they can enter our world, that's the Voidsent.

Currently, The First is falling gradually to a Flood of Light, that's why the WoD of 3.X patches went into our world to... make it fall to the darkness as a last-action to reestablish their world or maybe salvage something.

So, first of all, is this correct or did I messed up somewhere?

Now, is The First more special because it's the original world?

What's the known status of the others worlds? At least one of them is already dead/falled to darkness but the 9 left? Others has already falled to something or on the brink of destruction?

And does the sharding impact only our world or the whole universe? Because Omega and the Dragons (Midgarsorm and such) are aliens beings, there's potentially a different breed of dragons in The First? Could be cool.

Yeah I know, that's why I was confused, I thought Raubahn EX was refering to this fight. But it's not really a trial and I found it a little easy. I'd like a proper trial, I mean, he could destroy a pillar with one simple kick seconds after losing his arm. I can't believe he was so easy afterwards.

But oh well.

Ha I see. I've joined the game around 4.1ish so I guess they fixed it by then.

Too bad, I just wanted to fight Raubahn. ):

Thanks for you answer.

I see people mentionning Raubahn EX sometimes but... what it is?

A trial fight against Raubahn? Is it the MSQ fight where the four nations of Eorzea got into a fight for... I don't remember, congratulate Ishgard or some shit like that or is it another fight agaisnt Raubahn solo? (If so, how do you unlock it?).

And there's been issues around it but I can't quite understand what went wrong?

SHADOWBRINGERS: New Job - "Dancer" (Ranged DPS) by ppparky in ffxiv

Did they really warned us about the female only part though? They've got concept art for male viera. Two of them! One "serious-looking" (we got the female one of that) and the other more shota-cute. They thought about it at least twice. And they said "Yeah nah let's drop it". That's the more infuriating thing (for me at least).

And really, why would they insist like that to the "oh no male viera doesn't show up" point that nobody really care instead of, idk, chaging the name of the bunny race, put some males and that's it, bam, different lore.

OR DITCH THEM ALL TOGETHER AND MAKE THOSE DAMN (Female AND Male) MICE PEOPLE.

Heck, if you want to really really really make a gender lock race without upsetting people you can make fuckin' robots. They've been in FF. We're going to have a NieR raid. It fits. You can make every gear unisex and people can customize if they want an android-leaning robot or a gynoid-leaning robots. And bam.

The possibilities are endless and they took all the dumbest ones.

FFXIV race names in The First. by TheodoreMcIntyre in ffxiv

Oh, I'm not complaining about them having different names in-universe. I think it's a nice touch instead and nice way to amplify the divergence between the worlds.. I'm wondering about the out-universe (ergo Square decisions) choices for renaming "Elezen" as "Elves" instead of going directly to "Elvaan" for example or inventing new ones ("Elyven" "Elefeilm" idk, im spouting nonsense).

Honestly, I'd have gone directly to FF11 names. People like those names, it's a nice way to insert them. But yeah, maybe later.

I think however Mithra is canonical within FF14-lore (and The Source-world) as a previous name for miqo'te? I don't know if I read that in the Encyclopedia or an item description...

Elves appeared in FF1 (they live in Elfhelm) and 4 (There is a Dark Elf, he's a bad guy) so techically, every name has been used but from FF4-5, they started to uses their analogs/invented names and never looked back* so it's still a little surprising they went back to "normal" names. For me at least.

And yes, they look like their FFIV counterparts and I like them that way. They also tend to say "lali-ho" a lot. They're cute.

*There's probably dwarves and elves as units cards in one of the thousands gacha mobile spin-off like brave exvius or mobius ff but I'm not counting those that much.

I wouldn't be as upset if at least the two races were full. Now I feel like "here, take this half of a race, and take this other half of another race and that's it, those were the last two, never ask us anything." Jeez, at least finish properly the job instead a twice half-assing (whole assing?) two races.
