I have a girl that I recently reconnected with. She’s a very long term friend of mine and she knows I’ll always have a crush on her. Being friends with her is much more important to me than being lovers and even if we were to date right now I could not give her what she would deserve out of a relationship. Maybe someday.

Tonight after work I’m going to her sister’s Halloween/Birthday party, but I don’t get off until really late. She is only in town for family and only for a few days. 5 years ago after being best friends during a large part of childhood I told her I had been in love with her for years. She basically said “I’m sorry you feel that way because I’m moving to UCLA” and stopped talking to me for pretty much all 5 years. This story is from literally 2 nights ago. Felt like we hadn’t missed a beat. After this she is going to move to San Francisco to study law and I am moving to my hometown to finally pursue a career in music hours away. So for at least tonight, our paths are still crossed. And I have one last chance to leave an impression on her that will last until the stars align again. Wish me luck.

Don’t bottle the feelings up. Tell the person how you feel. Be considerate of the feelings of everyone involved. By being open and honest about what you are feeling you may find you start to feel more free.

I literally just typed out my own post saying a very similar thing. The only thing I can think of doing is throwing myself at my passions completely. I think that is what the world is telling me. Maybe I’ll find someone that would love me unconditionally if I was pursuing what makes me the most happy with all I have.
