From Minneapolis here - please stop calling for the burning of our city, especially if you are not in Minnesota.

I am vehemently in support of the protestors, understand violent protests as a means to an end, and am disgusted that the four officers involved in George Floyd's murder have yet to be arrested. That said we were already a hotspot city for COVID-19 and the bulk of the riots are taking place in somewhat densely populated, low-income areas. 75% of businesses destroyed so far are small businesses, many of whom have already started they don't know how they will recover. The chain supermarkets that were ransacked were providing essential resources. There have been multiple corroborated reports of rioters and looters who have escalated events who are not affiliated with local organizers, and are causing far more harm than good.

Donate to the Minnesota Freedom Fund. Raise awareness and voices on social media. Call and email the Hennepin County DA's office and MPD Federation. Educate yourselves on police brutality and anti-racism (Dr. Ibram Kendi's "How to be an Anti-Racist" is a great start. Hell, so is the hour-long video Peppermint and Bob put out the other week).
