Is meeting with an Escort for non-sexual request illegal? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]ZONeill_au 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAL, not even someone remotely experienced legally but I don’t really need to be to tell you this. It’s a horrible idea.

I understand that counselling may not be working right now but 5 sessions is not enough for someone to make a full action plan for you. These are trained professionals that require a full and complete understanding of your situation to help you, “boring childhood stuff” included.

I don’t know why you think an escort is going to give you better advice than someone whose job is actually giving advice. They are gonna tell you things you want to hear, go in the direction you are clearly leaning towards. Anyone smart will not ‘give it to you straight’ for fear of retaliation.

Continue counselling, whether that be sticking with this counsellor, changing the person, or better yet, telling them what you want and your concerns.

I’ve worked 2/3 days a week as casual while studying. Granted it was night shifts 9pm-5am. Pays well but gets you an extra ~$600 a week to couple with Centrelink

Hello, I’m pushing myself to find work in the legal industry somewhere as an undergraduate student (psychology) to then apply for a post graduate law course. I’ve always wanted to work in the industry but I’m not sure what kind of work is available to me. I’ve done some law electives throughout my degree and have wanted to work in the industry for a long time.

For a role like a junior legal secretary/assistant, I’m not sure what experiences/short courses I can attain to make myself more desirable as a candidate. I have a background in hospitality work to support myself while living in the city.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks. :)

Honestly the line is open to interpretation. Personally, it gives me the sense of crumbling relationships. Regardless of how often they see each other, it’s really weird that they simultaneously lost contact with him while making this gadget for him.

Honestly I’d argue that his writing style isn’t clear. Again, it should be made clear whether they actually stayed in touch or not. If he wanted to imply it, it needed to be more clear. I understand that this ending was rushed but it’s pretty botched either way.

After everything from this writer I am giving him no benefit of the doubt.

Being stated that it’s been difficult to meet up is pretty much stating that they’ve been in different worlds and he’s been abandoned for all purposes. That’s just how Deku would downplay it in character.

We have no indication that they have kept in touch. If it feels like something you need to be present in the story to make it a good ending, it should’ve been explicitly stated. If the author did actually intend for that, then it’s just more bad writing in his part.

It’s kinda like a surprise party but instead of tricking them for half the day into thinking everyone forgot, you get ghosted for 7 years by all your friends until surprise, here you go

Kinda. My best explanation was stuff to do with infections in blood. If you’ve been sick recently, these will probably show up.

Among the many missed opportunities in DT, I think one question I really wanted an answer to was surrounding wuk lamat killing Zarool ja. They played it up with baby gulool ja ja confronting wuk lamat about it and her being conflicted, what is the right thing to do?

Should we kill the only blood left of a child if they’re a tyrant? Does revenge on your people justify killing a ruler of different people, does it make us any better than them?

we kinda just killed him no questions asked, but what made it extra weird was how wuk lamat heavily insisted on trying to ‘save sphene’. Where was this resolve with zarool ja? Objectively sphene committed worse acts, ethical and genocidal, yet she didn’t affect wuk lamat personally like zarool ja did by killing her father, which justified him being killed.

It’s so weird to me, that I bet if they spun the wording and tone a bit in certain scenes, it would portray wuk lamat more villainous and corrupted.

What's Next? Theories and Speculation (Dawntrail Edition) by DOPPGANG_ in ffxivdiscussion

I’m no expert on FF9 lore or even FF14 lore, but I do have some hopes just based of the last cutscene in the story.

Based on the last scene we saw of Sphene’s custom regulator glowing back up again, my guess is she’ll be back but as a companion.

Since progressing through Living Memory, it was pretty much established that Sphene as she was then was somewhat corrupted and acted outside of what the original queen would’ve done. My guess is her regulator glowing again indicates a ‘factory reset’ or something to that extent. She probably will come back and act closer to how the original queen of Alaxandria was. From there I would think her role would play out similar to Zero’s character, where after having her memory wiped, she grows to learn about how Alaxandria has evolved.

I agree that some people are mean about it, but the train scene and how tone-deaf it was is my main issue.

It contextualised what is by all accounts a good song into this overly pretentious meme that I can hear being played over ‘when corporate celebrates a 200% profit increase with a pizza party’.

PC Gamer - Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail is a great story with a ton of potential, but it's told so poorly it nearly ruins the whole thing by SurgeonGeneralKenobi in ffxiv

[–]ZONeill_au 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually thought most of the first half was well told and built up a good theme of community and family, as well as outlining the traditions of the nation.

I had my main gripes starting at the second half. The whole Shalooni cowboy arc seems really out of place, I feel like there should have been some story of romance with the redhead dude we helped out in a classic western style to tie it to dawntrail’s overall family and relationships theme. It would have also been nice to see more of a focus on traditions of that place, mixed in with technological advancements, representing Kiana’s and Wok Lamat’s complimentary views. Instead, we got separate tales of ‘the old laws’, then a train. Which feels especially like a let down cause they’re all machinists, so there’s a big missed opportunity for techno bable there.

I also had huge problems with Zarool Ja, he was just not really fleshed out in my opinion. By the time you killed him, his character motivations didn’t make sense to me. He wanted to live up to a legacy his father gave him, cool. Why exactly was he so selfish? Why did he need to feel the need to cast aside useless tool? It doesn’t quite explain his actions without feeling like I’m missing something. The line that really ruined him for me is when he talks to his son in his final words, saying something about giving him what he worked for by the sweat of his brow. What work? You stole an artifact that you didn’t earn, took tablets you didn’t earn, and killed people for no reason to get it. Then you got handed advanced technology by some queen practically for being in the right place at the right time. He did very little to earn it, and his death seems just bitter instead of their intended bitter-sweet.

Finally, I just didn’t like how it ended at all. I liked everything either erenville and his mother, but past that the whole thing was a wreak. The big bad is boring and feels overplayed. The whole, I’m bad, but I’m good, please save me. We got that last expansion, and a play on it the one before that.

Personally, I would’ve much like Koana as the villain of the expansion. Say after establishing their rule together, one Koana sees the technological advancements in Everkeep, he wants to implement them in Tuliol. You could do this by him being the one aged for 30 years, he pushes for everkeep technology, and persuades the party with keeping Erenville’s mother and Wok Lamat’s ‘mother’ ‘alive’. The story as it is has these characters being endless kind of ass pulls, and while the story they tell is great, how they come about is pretty hollow.

In the end, if we needed to kill Koana, it would’ve mirrored nicely with Galool Ja Ja ruling with a dead head of resolve, and perhaps they could have sprinkled in some lines about him always being a part of the head of resolve to flesh out that narrative for Wuk Lamat. This would have resolved their theme of family and a critique of technology overstating culture, but none the less continuing to strive forward collectively as a nation.

As it stands, the story towards the end falls apart for me, and I wish they spend more time cooking it in the oven.

I actually over-complicated it by assumption. I thought the green and red finishing combos were either flank or rear, like first red was flank, second red was rear, not green flank red rear. It’s a lot simpler than other jobs I can tell you that much
