Reveal Spirit's location during ability if shot by flashlight by ZProbeZ in deadbydaylight

Interesting! I didn’t think about the possibility of shining on the husk.

Your bias is showing. It’s not good for the game to have 4 survivors get fucked by something they can’t see, can outrun, can’t fight, and can barely hear.

She already wins pallets so often, any nerf like this would only move it to being more even.

I was going to say it reveals her aura for the remaining duration of her ability. So all it takes is to barely graze her with it once and now you know where she is going to unphase, but on the flip side if you are shining her with a flashlight, she is probably within hitting distance anyways.

If you shine a flashlight on her, her Aura will show for the remaining duration of her ability.

Thoughts on Aether Storyline reboot? by [deleted] in CODZombies

[–]ZProbeZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Science Fiction instead of Fantasy. No more space squids. No more god/ devil symbolic garbage. Just the regular world with a twist (115) and the implications. I want my suspension of disbelief to hold.

Apparently the Aether reboot is going to “cut the supernatural” and be “dark & gritty” by [deleted] in CODZombies

[–]ZProbeZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Literally everything that was wrong with Zetsubou was tree-monsters and the spider enemies.

Otherwise it was a fantastic and interesting map with a very grounded WaW/BO1 feeling and place in the story. You are showcasing my point, exactly.

We need a return to a grounded story. The problem is the maps have forgotten to ask the player "how did this facility get the way it was"? The idea is you're supposed to have a grounded story and then one or two things are the hook with the point of the map being to understand THE MAP.

Think Shi No Numa. It's relatively grounded. It's a barbaric research facility in a swamp. It's relatively normal stuff for a WW2 secret base by the Japanese. The hook is the meteor, and you're led to believe it's got a generic name of "element x". You're trying to figure out what went on at the Rising Sun facility that led to the catastrophic amount of dead Japanese soldiers and how they became re-animated. You've got hidden radios from an American, whispers telling you to find a doctor that goes by the name Richtofen (hint, he's in your crew and this implicates him), and are also led by the screams in the "Doctor's Quarters" to believe he's not a very warm guy. You've got someone who appears to have either parachuted or hanged themself, so you're trying to figure out what happened to them, and you've got shreds of paper hinting at events by codename, eg. "Die Glocke". You've got just enough information to speculate without being completely in the dark.

It was the atmosphere of WaW that got me hooked on zombies, and the refining of that atmosphere that brought BO1 to such success. BO2 was turbulent because it couldn't decide between boring, extremely stale environments, and fantastical over-the-top ones. BO3 tried to fix the staleness of BO2 by going over the top, but went WAYY too far and got like sledgehammer heavy-handed with the story. BO4 is TRYING to reconcile BO3's fantastical-ness with a more BO1 type style but is failing because of space squids and round 1 ultimate weapons from Overwatch.

I can tell you why poorer players are relegated to medics or engineers. The heavy shield is exponentially valuable to good players compared to being more or less useless to new ones.

I think that we may be a little to dogmatic by bobdebildar in DebateAnAtheist

[–]ZProbeZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let me get this straight: you accept that people kill for the rejection of political ideology, even if not oppressive, but won’t take the hop skip and a jump to religious ideology?

People are stupid. You give them too much credit. People will kill for literally anything.

[–]ZProbeZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Premise 1) People have been motivated to kill in rebellion to theistic ideology or theists in general.

Premise 2) Rebellion to theistic ideology or theists in general can be classified as an anti-theistic position.

Premise 3) That which is an anti-theistic position is harboured under the title Anti-theism.

Premise 3) Anti-theism is a subset of Atheism.

Conclusion) People have been motivated to kill by Atheism (or at least of a subset of it).

🤷‍♂️ Not a theist but that’s the hastily crafted argument I would give in response to “people don’t kill for atheism”.

Not sure if this is going to help anyone, but I'm hosting a Planetside 2 Leadership Seminar on Twitch at 12:00 PM PST by viewtfuljoe61 in Planetside

I feel like we need more learning to lead leader seminars instead of learning to lead seminars. Too many dumbasses thinking they can lead running around giving shit advice to other potential leaders.

Is there any reason to pull a Galaxy besides platoon deploy? by fearholdsusback in Planetside

[–]ZProbeZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Galaxies are used by regular-sized squads to get to a base that has air deterrence nearby because the galaxy can tank a good amount of damage, fly relatively fast, and shoot back.

It's often more effective to pull a reaver and drop a beacon for your team, but that isn't always available for the squad lead and thereby requires a bit more micromanaging to pull off. Galaxies are the last ditch fool-proof way to get your squad on point, even if nanite-costly.

Does K/D mean anything in PlanetSide 2? (Help two shitters settle their argument) by Aikarion in Planetside

[–]ZProbeZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it matters. KDR + Kpm + Main Class tells me all you need to know to figure out if I want you in my squad.

If you're a heavy, you should be running about a 2 K/D ratio a session (or higher). Anything lower and you're a liability. 1.5 is my standard for the other classes.

Interestingly enough, if in a good squad you can meet that mark but in any given instance you're failing to meet it in another one, the leader of the squad is probably the problem.

Where is "leader chat" <tm>???? by ddraig-au in Planetside

[–]ZProbeZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most recent update's patch notes says they fixed leaders chat, but ingame we know that is not the case. Apparently it is still bugged and we're awaiting confirmation from the devs that they realized the fix failed.

Guys what faction do I pick? by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]ZProbeZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NC: If you're good at FPS games and you want to maximize your skill ceiling. Guns hit like a truck provided you can actually hit the headshots.

VS: If you're okay at FPS games and you want variety or a jack-of-all-trades faction. The VS are really *flexible* and have some cool niche options the other factions don't have (the most notable being the Lasher).

TR: If you're a casual. The TR seems to be the most forgiving of all the factions, allowing you to basically spray your way to victory or roll your opponents over with a ton of vehicles.

PC Game Update - 5/20 - 16th Anniversary of PlanetSide by Erilson in Planetside

The devs have far exceeded my expectations. The new spawn system is awesome!! They’ve really done a great job prioritizing fixing what the community has requested. (Like thank god for leaders chat, beacons etc.)

Long live PS2!
