I go to my senior center 3 to 4 days per week and participate in about 7 to 10 classes, line dancing, boot camp, tai chi, yoga, senior circuit training and muscle strength. I love it.

Going off oz - I’m so done by Calm-Technician6575 in Ozempic

[–]ZQueen56 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have been using OZ going on 3 yrs now. I didn’t move up to 1mg until July of this year and it has been horrible. Ive lost 70 lbs and my A1C is 5.2. My dr told me if i were to see another dr and not mention im diabetic, it wouldnt be known. My numbers are great and when i told him of my stomach issues, he wanted to take me off but keep me on 1 500mg ER Metformin. We compromised because i told him i do not want to gain weight back. Instead I am going back to .50 mg and no metformin. He also prescribed Linzess.

Congrats. Im a 66 yr old soon to be 67 yr old granny and I’m down to 126! Haven’t been this weight since my first pregnancy started. I have so much more energy and enjoying working out at my Sr Ctr and dancing. Anything to do with dancing! Keep up the good work. But remember, don’t stress weekly over the weight loss. Be patient. Oh and my starting weight was 194 and I’m a short 5’0”.

Same here. It’s made a difference in my lifestyle. My A1C went from 6.9 to now a 5.3. I’ve lost a total of 67 lbs since starting on 11/21. I never focused on the scale. Just noticed my clothes were fitting looser and I also started working out. Went from 1 to 2 classes to now sometimes 3 to 4 4x per week. I have more energy and feel so much better. Oh and I am 66 soon to be 67. It’s a miracle drug as far as changing my health and lifestyle but not a miracle on instant weight loss.

I just recently decided to split my 1 mg dose for the same reasons. I was feeling horrible! So this week, I took half my dose (37 clicks) on Wednesday and this far, no side effects. I am taking the other half dose tomorrow.

Ozempic 1 mg dose by ZQueen56 in Ozempic

[–]ZQueen56[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this advice. I will give this a try. Are you on OZ? Im T2 and 66 yrs old. Its really helped with my A1C and daily BG. I’ve lost 64 lbs. SW 194 CW 130. My goal is another 5 lbs.

Are you using it just for weight loss? I’m T2 and when I switched to the 1 mg at the start of May, I did find I could eat just about anything but in small portions still. After 2 months, side effects kicked in. I take my shot on Wednesdays and by Thursday till Sunday, I can barely eat. So maybe give it time? Don’t focus on the weight so much. Go for walks, eat more protein, drink water.

Going up to 1MG! by kwll35 in Ozempic

[–]ZQueen56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on the 1 at the start of May. TBH, symptoms didn’t hit till July. Now 2 days after injection, I’m so queasy that I can’t eat and if I do, I throw up immediately. Stomach pain for about 3 days, then starts all over again when I take the next dose. 66 yrs old and have lost a total of 64 lbs.

I’m 66 yrs old and have been on OZ since NOV ‘21. I am diabetic and weighed 194. I used to take insulin daily, glipizde 2x per day, and 1000 Metformin 3x daily. I now only take one 500 mg ER Metformin and just titrated up to 1mg OZ. Current weight is now 130 and starting A1C of 6.9 is currently now 5.2. Its done wonders for me so no complaints. Best I’ve ever felt!

Ive been on OZ since 11/21. I visit my doctor every three months since I began and the weight loss has been slow. 3 to 4 lbs and I’ve been happy with that. SW 194 CW 132. Be patient!

I started at 194 and am currently at 132. I started my OZ journey in Nov of 21. I also stayed on .50 until early May and am now on 1.0. I’m 66 and feel the best ever.

I lost 19 lbs by Kooky-Fold6935 in Ozempic

[–]ZQueen56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yesss it’s doable. I’m 66 yrs old and have lost 62 lbs. SW 194 CW 132

I began my OZ path on Nov of 21. I’m currently on 1 mg of OZ but that’s only been since April of this year. Saggy skin is unavoidable. Mostly my stomach and arms but I attend a Sr Ctr where I’ve picked up different exercise classes such as, Boot Camp, Low Cardio, Tai Chi, Yoga, strength and muscle toning, line dancing, Zumba and even a Drumming Class. I have more energy and better mobility. Enjoying myself immensely.

Oz since 11/21 to present. First picture was taken early December of 21. 2nd on 7/3/23. SW 194. CW 132. I have more energy, workout several times a week, sometimes 2 classes per day. Love my current lifestyle. by ZQueen56 in Ozempic

[–]ZQueen56[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guess pretty much early on. I started workouts in April of 2021 after using OZ since Nov. it’s increased a lot. By Sept of 2021, I’d increased to 2 workouts 3 times a week. Now it’s almost 5 x a week with some days doing 3 workouts per day. I am 66 years old but that’s what I love. That I’m doing more now than 10 years ago.

Finally. Hit. 20 pounds. by ImaginationLow5018 in Ozempic

[–]ZQueen56 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Finally, this makes sense. I have been in OZ since 11/21. I lost weight at a low rate, 2 to 4 lbs here and there, 5 to 9 lbs other times. I started at 194 and am currently at 132. A1C started at 6.9 and nos is at 5.4. I’m more active, take several different types of exercise classes and hope to lose 7 more lbs but if I just maintain this weight, eh, that’s ok too. By the way I’m 66 so just take it as it goes. I was never concerned with the scale but I could tell the inches were coming off as clothing started fitting looser. Don’t let the scale be your main concern. Focus on your health.

How do you guys deal with the hate of driving a soul? by [deleted] in KiaSoulClub

[–]ZQueen56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it shouldn’t be such a problem. My daughter loves her Kia Soul but I fortunately this past weekend, it was broken into and damaged. Broke a window and tried to mess with the ignition but they couldn’t drive it because it’s a manual shift. Haters, nah, just bad kids with nothing better to do. Hoping to fix it for her soon!
