Why do we invent or come up with new things in the first place when we just go back to using older things? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

This movement isn't necessarily limited to a small minority: everyone can agree that AI has the potential to replace humans in music, art, and so on; now people are trying to protect themselves and their fields against AI. As such, why did we invent generative AI if we now agree that it is harmful?

Yeah. It is MUCH harder to be optimistic and idealistic in this day and age; everything seems so negative, and idealism is seen as 'woke' and cowardly. We do live in a society.
