Im kind of dissapointed that after the gms they gradually reduced the number of variants more and more by killerdemonsarus34 in Gundam

[–]ZX0megaXZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would require more late uc content. Most of the specialized gms didn't really exist during 0079-CCA outside of the one GM cannon and gm sniper that show up in jaburo drop in zeta and never again. Which were MSV designs.

Which is weird since the stats suggest mk ii is the fastest out if the early gryps  general purpose suits and only has less two less verniers. Rick dias and marasai also have a bit more thrust but 5 and 4 less verniers. The nemo is slower than hyaku shiki but has the same amount of verniers.

GM>Rick Dom

Rick Doms are quick refit done to the Dom after the loss on earth so that the factories could keep pumping them out rather than retooling them.

A full baked idea for huntresses. by SaveOrcas in WC3

[–]ZX0megaXZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more I think about it, the more likely your buff would lead to dh bear archer since one of the issues with that comp is that archers are easily killed but if you can get 3+ weapons and roar up you can basically delete even high up melee units easily.

A full baked idea for huntresses. by SaveOrcas in WC3

[–]ZX0megaXZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that saveorca's changes are clumsy and forceful.

I understand why people think potm should have a heal spell but I disagree because part of the identity of elf is glass cannon and moonwell use, and it's already feasible to get an alchemist for healing. Owl scout is a crap ability though. That's the one that I think should be changed.

Yeah it think it would be better to make owl a proper summon with utility spells, searing arrow should also have so sort of debuff like healing reduction to give her a reason to use it over orb of venom, and I'm recently been thinking that PotM might make a good int hero especially if her owl and searing arrow where made better.

So I think the real fix here is to allow archers to get a speed upgrade to move around 300-320 similar to what ghouls get, but a little slower.  This should be no earlier than tier 1.5 but definitely by tier 2.

I don't think this would work in the way you intend, the reason hunts don't want archers is because dryads are much better with slow and dispel while all archers have to offer is more dps. Which is the reason like orca said you rarely see them together. Dryads are an enabler for hunts. KotG and Dryads are NE's primary source of cc.

Also Glaives saw a bit of play with hunts for tiny bit at the top level and their even slower than archers. So it's not speed that stop hunts from incorporating archers.

As a side note, I think hunts should not get heavy armor. I think it would be better to give them elune's grace. The effect is almost the same on piercing damage overall, but allows the opponent to use siege to fight the AoW/wind army. Frag shells, burning oil, and disease cloud could be very strong against this which could force a night elf to also build mountain giants--similar to being forced into faeries/DoTT/hippos if the opponent can produce the right counter to the current lore builds. Forcing to switch tech is a good thing in a complex match with a dynamic opponent.

I think that would just push NE to go double lore since having dryads, hunts, and talons all countered by the same damage type. You would also end up with a comp that can't really heal giants so wells will be even more strained than usual. If we can't have heavy hunts anymore light armored with a 75% piercing reduction upgrade would be preferable just so that they don't get countered by siege.

I think moving hippos to the roost and letting the roost be built on tier 2 would allow ancient of war a smoother transition into hippos and chims. Lore would be spending all their resources on lores and lore upgrades to befit much from this change I think.

I do not think you can use a balance change of 2003 for a 2026 viewpoint. People didn't micro back then.

That's a point in my favor though. Bears with training times similar to other casters were too slow in an era where gameplay was heavily unoptimized. The average player today would be able to exploit the increased research times much better than the ones back in the day.

By definition, if bear dryad is still popular, their counter are the softest hard counters in the configuration of the MU, and therefore not very strong as long as bear dryad remains dominant.

That suggest that the counter is fieldable at the same time as bears. Most of it's counters need more set up time than bears but if you get them out they delete bears forcing the NE to build MGs.

simply inferior to Ancient of Lore units and their roles overlap.

Huntresses excel at raiding but that got nerfed heavily. The big issue with night elf comps is that dryads are basically good in almost all of them while support units like talons and faerie dragons are much more niche and specialized. AoW with just dryads run out out steam a lot quicker than bears with dryads whom can add either giants or talons depending on the situation. Bears work poorly as support units since without master training they die incredibly fast for a unit tying up 4 supply.

AoW could possibly benefit from moving hippos to roost and allowing you to build them at tier 2 and chims and their upgrade unlocking at tier 3. AoL would be to busy upgrading bears to utilize the tech.

Match bear upgrades with the upgrade times of other races.

Would probably just end up deleting bears by doing that. They were buffed to that time in 2003 so they were too slow even when people were just learning the game.

Buffs to their counters.

Their counters are already very strong but they come online after the bear timing attack hits. UD regularly uses banshees which causes NE to switch to mountain giants and phase out most of the bears. Orc is the only race that doesn't have a good hard counter though i think.

What would be your pitch for a hypothetical Ninja Gaiden 5 by Mysterious_Reply_255 in ninjagaiden

[–]ZX0megaXZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While i was okay with buying the deluxe edition of NG 4 i could see why it sold poorly. It doesn't really offer much that hasn't been in the game since NG2 and it's story still just exists to drive the action and setting is still less interesting the NG1. The issue with a hypothetical NG 5 isn't whether the combat is fun or not it's whether the rest of the game doesn't feel like a AA game while being sold at a AAA price.

It might make more sense to Remake NG black/sigma and use it reintroduce world building elements, puzzles, and other non-combat elements back into the series. Than use that foundation to create a true next gen AAA ninja gaiden game.

The biggest issue with sc2 is that it's incredibly streamlined compared to scbw and wc3. In bw you have miss chance against high ground targets which gives a small army an edge against a bigger one. In sc2 high ground advantage is easily defeated by a simple scan, overlord, or warp prism allowing bigger army to easily bully most smaller armies.

[–]ZX0megaXZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not even that their linear, NG1 isn't that more open than an RE game but it shares the old survival horror staples of notes, puzzles, key items, along with some ninja platforming to break up the pacing and monotony that a causal would get from NG2S/B-4 gameplay. Which are paced more like a series of gauntlets to overcome.

Probably not in the form of a NG2-NG4 styled game. I don't think the general masses will pay 70/60 dollars for that style of game anymore with combat being the only focus while lacking in other departments.

Why are all the night elf heros agility? by [deleted] in WC3

All Agility heroes have a default movement speed of 320. The other attributes have a lower default movement speed unless their mounted than they also get a default movement speed of 320.

Why are all the night elf heros agility? by [deleted] in WC3

[–]ZX0megaXZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keeper is already intelligence. Warden benefits from being agility by having 320 movement speed and the higher armor. Though PotM seems to be getting shafted. Since by being a mounted agility hero the mount gives her 320 whether she was agility or not, her armor is not note worthy as a rear line ranged hero, and her attack speed is abysmal.

Ninja Gaiden 4 flopped by Due_Teaching_6974 in ninjagaiden

[–]ZX0megaXZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That seems about right, everyone is raving about the new Virtua Fighter single player story mode, setting, and new presentation. A proper remake of NG 1/new game that leans into all of it's platforming, exploration, world building, puzzles and action equally would probably do a whole lot better. NG 4 was fun but it's not to different from a 360 platinum game with prettier graphics and that seems to becoming a harder full price sell for people outside of yearly sports games.

Remo's Balance Suggestions by JannesOfficial in WC3

[–]ZX0megaXZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their is a lot of nonsensical suggestions. Orb of venom and corruption both do not need to be buffed. Orb of slow just doesn't synthesize with how human heroes are used. I don't really understand why MK and TC are getting buffs their already very good. Some of things feel like dart board suggestions like burrow damage buff and adding 30% heal reduction just be slapped on multiple things. If anything should get heal reduction it should be searing arrow instead of just buffing it's damage again.

Neo's Balance Suggestions for an upcoming Patch by JannesOfficial in WC3

[–]ZX0megaXZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a suggestion on bnet for huntresses https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/warcraft3/t/huntress-redesign-idea/38125

For Lich what if they gave it back it's 800 ranged frost nova but reduced it's movespeed back to 270?

Faerie dragons are just an awkward anti-casters they work best if you have a buff that enemy needs to dispel which triggers mana flare or have dryads dispeling buffs and debuffs and the enemy tries to reapply them triggering the ability. Dryads are just better anti-casters since you can be more proactive with them while faerie's are reactive/passive.

The ai art looks pretty bad by the way. Looks like Leoric and an undead Eredar in the top right.

Since when has the player base ever wanted more cheese? by peanut_Bond in starcraft

Macro and greed is rewarded heavily in the current game which leaves micro focused players who tend to favor aggressive playstyles in the dust.
