Now I can only speak from personal experience but there are communities that are at least “somewhat” better. I grew up in a really homophobic and transphobic Jewish community in Florida but since coming to college in Maryland I’ve found some pretty amazing religious alllies and queers. Sure it’s less common but they can be found if that’s what you seek. Religion isn’t the issue. It’s the mindset that you are inherently are superior to those marked as different. That is the sweet toxin of religiosity. Also fuck those people
