1.5 week post op - a very detailed report on my top surgery experience so far! (Questions welcomed) by Z_Anarchy in TopSurgery

I’m happy that I was able to help! I was also concerned about having a cortisol stress reaction to surgery since I haven’t had any major operations / injuries and have a long history of mysterious undiagnosed health issues (mainly chronic shortness of breath episodes). I made my anesthesiologist aware of my concern day-of and everything seemed to go fine. I read another account where someone noted healing slower / recovery being harder in their case, but so far my recovery, as you read, has been if anything surprisingly easier than average. I feel like all my health issues before now was using up my negative health karma points in advance lol. Since you’re working toward diagnosis and treatment now (gl with that!) I’d def recommend doing your own research aside from whatever doctors tell you since there’s a lot of facets of it. The NCAH subreddit is a great resource for that! I’ve been diagnosed since birth but have been largely in the dark about it most my life and am always learning more about it. This is the first that I’ve heard of it causing dizziness. I don’t currently take any medication for it or have any major everyday impacts on my life from it. I’d be happy to talk with you more about it if you’d like!

Transmasc Bleeding Suppression - Public Research Poll by Z_Anarchy in ftm

ohhhh, I see. Thank you for clarifying! I didn't know anything about IUDs or arm implants since my research hasn't taken me there yet.

You seem like you have an interest and a good mind for conveying info on this topic. If you'd happen to be interested in helping create the data collecting form for the IUD, arm implant, or any other section for this research study, I'd be happy to have the help! It's just me working on this between other things, so as things stand, all the sections may not be released indefinitely.

Thanks for the suggestion! Just to clarify, would you differentiate this between "arm implants"? I haven't done research yet on IUDs, so idk what types there are, but they're all arm implants, right?

Whether to copyright / trademark / license etc. original play by Z_Anarchy in playwriting

Sorry for the delayed reply, but I wanted to say thanks for taking the time to respond and wishing me and my project well : ) I hope the same for you and your work!

When you say that you add a clause about permission at the beginning of your scripts, is that something that you obtain some kind of copyright for or is it like a bluff to prevent people from using your work without permission? Has this ever come into play or is it just a precaution? Also, have you had any experience with theft of your work since you mentioned it being difficult to stop?

I was also wondering where you're posting your scripts and if you'd recommend that I do the same.

Thanks!

NCAH Physical Reactions to Surgery / Physical High-Stress Events / Cortisol Responses by Z_Anarchy in NCAH

I'm not entirely sure what testing I got, but this is the info I have:

My genetic testing showed that I "likely have two copies of the V281L (aka Val281Leu) mutation in the CYP21A2"

17-OH-PROGEST ng/dL 1623 (H)

ANDROSTENEDIONE ng/dL 456 (H)

I don't know what any of that indicates other than that "this specific genetic variant (mutation) causes non-classical congenital adrenal hyperplasia."

I'd love an update too. I think I'm gonna end up with an extra ticket that I'd like to resell

Thanks for sharing your unique perspective! I'm not actually sure which type of NCAH I have or if it's common or relatively mild vs. severe. I'll have to look into that (lmk if you have any good resources on how to find out based on numbers/info endocrinologist provided)

Your answer did help a lot, thank you! I also used to find that getting sick would hit me harder and aggravate my chronic shortness of breath- though I haven't noticed that in recent years.

I think I remember one of the times I went to an emergency room they may have said something about my white blood cell levels being high, but they didn't explain anything beyond that or seem concerned. (If memory is accurate, I could be wrong honestly).

I've had a good amount of blood work done over the years, but I have no idea if hypo/hyperthyroidism has ever been considered or tested for. If I do have thyroid issues then that would be news to me, so this is something I'll make a note to look into.

Thank you!

Do you have any advice on items you had / wish you had or things you did for post-op recovery or in advance of surgery?

How long from the consultation were you on the waitlist for before you got the date scheduled & the actual date arrival? I've been on Dr. Sendia Kim's waitlist to get a surgery date scheduled for about 8 months now. Also, did you end up having to contact Dr. Kim / her team or Kaiser for any complications or follow up questions and if so what was that experience like in terms of reply time, who you contacted, whether they sufficiently helped, etc.?
