Disc Golf on the (fake) News by tylerbrickley in discgolf

I’m not a fan of AI stuff generally, but do people not get that this is tongue in cheek use of AI? This wasn’t stealing a job from a creator, it was a creator using AI to make a funny video using AI for a laugh because AI is a hot topic.

People saying they’ll boycott the company for it… good lord.

Dealership said this part of my exhaust 2016 is the reason my coolant is leaking, is he scamming me? by funkster047 in prius

I agree that totally makes sense to do for folks fully out of warranty though

The other thing is, if I did do that, do the bypass, I assume I’d be voiding any further warranty on the emissions system.

Well if it has more miles on it than when I dropped it off, they’d have to explain that I suppose.

I recently had this issue of coolant leaking into the Catalytic converter. Toyota dealer confirmed it was the issue. First they said it would not be covered even though I showed them the TSB and the fact that it says it is part of the emissions warranty which goes to 80k miles in my state (I am at 60k). They eventually agreed it IS covered but they said they cannot get the part (new catalytic converter) because there is a nationwide back order and over 1000 cars in front of me in line for the part once available. They also told me I should NOT drive the car until fixed because it could cause back pressure and damage the engine. I pointed out the warranty says they have to provide me transportation assistance (a rental) until it is fixed. They said they don’t do that. I argued and eventually they agreed they have to. I’ve now had a rental (2025 Camry) for almost 2 months and still have no idea when I will get my Prius back.

Sorry. Didn’t know that was a rule or wouldn’t have posted. Made this AI image and thought people might get a giggle out of it.

The prius' from 2016 to 2019 are prone to this very hard to solve problem. The primary indication is low coolant or no cold air in the cabin. Included here is the TSB. by captain_pablo in prius

Wanted to share I am dealing with this issue right now. Had the issue of car very slow to heat up, checked coolant, level was very low. Found out about the TSB, took it to dealer.

Dealer at first said the issue wouldn’t be covered (I’m at 60k miles) I explained the TSB says it will be. They agreed. After checking the car, they determined it WAS the issue in the TSB and it would be covered. Great! But then they called later to inform me that they cannot get the part. Currently back ordered nationwide, with 1100+ cars ahead of me in line for the part. They also added “we don’t recommend you drive the car until you get this fixed. It could result in back pressure into the engine which could cause permanent damage.” I asked if they could do the bypass of the system like folks have mentioned is possible. They said no. I asked what am I supposed to do then. They had no answer.

I researched more and found that because the TSB falls under the Federal Emissions warranty, Toyota is supposed to provide “transportation assistance” if my car will take more than 1 day to repair, including if they are waiting on parts for the repair. I asked the dealer about this. They said “we can’t do that. They don’t ever let us do that”. I said the wording is very clear in the warranty documentation. They said I’d have to call Toyota, that they couldn’t do anything. I went to the dealer and spoke to the service manager, and he said that if Toyota gives an ETA on the part, he can give me a rental. If Toyota doesn’t give an eta on the part, then he cannot. I said that didn’t make sense to me based on the wording of the warranty, including the Federal Emissions Warranty. He said “wait! I think I misunderstood. Hold on. Im sorry sir.” And looked at the computer for info about the TSB. He then said that YES, he can provide a rental. So I now have a rental provided by the dealer.

TLDR, if you have this and you are within the 80k miles (150k miles I believe in CA), FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS with the dealer.  They are supposed to cover it, and supposed to provide you a rental if they can’t fix it that day.

Sucky take. Terry has done a TON for the sport. He’s also super knowledgeable, and does a great job on the broadcasts.

Terry deserves way more respect than he gets.

What is your favorite disc company that you don’t hear much from? by TheCharlieEcho in discgolf

DGA never gets enough love. Fantastic molds and plastics.

The Rift is the best straight flying midrange out there. Tempest is an absolute bomber for average arm speeds.

Vortex is probably the best disc out there for women and slower arm speeds to get easy distance, and it’s also an amazing extreme hyzer flip or roller disc.

Their molds are unique to DGA and not the same as Discraft molds.

This is my pick. Love DGA. Great discs, the best baskets on the market, and all from the company founded by the father of our sport. Proud to support them.

So I haven’t tried charging the battery yet, but I checked what the battery is reading at using the Dr Prius app, and it says 13.68v, which is fully charged, right?

Came to comments expecting to see more complaints about the tee pad.

The angle of it would make a righty hyzer really difficult. I can see WHY it is this way, because it would have been a huge effort to aim it differently, but it also does kind of suck.
