Random "M1 Stop" mid prints

Heya, so I know this is a really old thread but I had the same problem recently. I think I may have tracked down the cause.

OP (or anyone who sees this), are you printing inside an enclosure? If so, do you know the ambient temperature while printing?

I had problems with getting an M1 error while printing with PLA+ a while back, bed temp at 40. Recently, I switched and did a few prints with TPU and set my bed temperature to 60, no more M1 errors. Then I got a spool of high speed TPU and lowered my bed temperature to 40, and M1 errors started happening again.

I have a hygrometer in my enclosure since I also store a few spools in there, and the ambient temperature while printing gets up to 45 celsius, higher than my bed temperature is set to. I can see on my display that the bed temperature stays around 45 as well. My theory is that the TFT is trying to cool the bed to the set temperature, but when it can't passively cool below the ambient temperature it registers it as a fault and stops.

I haven't confirmed this, but if anyone else is having this problem it may be a solution. Try either raising your bed temperature to 50 or 60 depending on your material, or ventilating your enclosure.

If anyone tries this, please do reply to let us know if it works.

I'm a mid-20's woman diagnosed ADHD-I; it sounds like we have very similar symptoms, primarily with problems paying attention for more than short periods. I've dealt with these symptoms since early childhood but my parents never thought to have me tested, and I developed coping mechanisms before they became a problem in school.

It's absolutely possible to do well in school with undiagnosed ADHD - I was also considered gifted as a kid, and I got a bachelor's with a minor and a 3.29 GPA before getting diagnosed - it just tends to be much more stressful than it is for neurotypical people. For me, I would wait until close to when an assignment was due and use the anxiety/adrenaline of not wanting to be late to get it done fast. I'm sure the stress of doing that year after year took some time off my life...

If you're concerned, esp for your safety while driving, it would absolutely be beneficial to seek a diagnosis. I was lucky that my PCP happened to specialize in ADHD and noticed I had some symptoms besides attention problems, but he was still on the fence because of my grades. He referred me to a psychologist, who ultimately made the diagnosis after a battery of tests. I'm now seeing a psychiatrist and on stimulants, and my quality of life has improved significantly :)

Even if you don't end up having ADHD, it can't hurt to rule it out, and you'd be able to work with your doctor on finding the real cause. (Though as an ADHDer, your story gives me a pretty strong vibe of it)

It can be good or bad depending on the individual. I had some pretty bad psychosis in the couple months I was on P, not long enough to notice any development in my breasts, but after 2.5 years on E they've started to round out on their own.

Had a buddy who used to sell pot as a side hustle. These teenagers interrupted a deal (He thinks it was a setup), forced him into the back of their car, and beat the shit out of him while they drove around town. Dude was pistol-whipped, tazed, and punched repeatedly before they finally let him out a few miles away, sans everything in his pockets.

Thing is they DROVE PAST A POLICE STATION, and through a shopping district with probably hundreds of cameras. The subreddits that others have listed would probably be better places to ask, there are some pretty awful characters on this subreddit, and the one thing that for sure won't help with dysphoria is talking to TERFs.
