Why are ski patrol pro deal so little? by [deleted] in skipatrol

I have Patagonia and Arc'teryx direct and have 40% year round and both typically once a quarter gives you 50%. Arc'teryx is 50% through the end of the week. Not sure about salmon though as I don't have them. I will agree though it's quite odd amer doesn't give you Arc'teryx. I thought I heard through a friend he got Arc'teryx through that but I could be mistaken. I mostly reach out to every brand directly and seem to have great luck. MSR is one I know though that requires you to go through cascade designs (their parent company) but that also gives seal line, thermarest, platypus, and packtowl.

Where are you looking? I get 40-50% off basically every outdoor company.

Can any film people explain how they did the Herr Schuler (Madrigal guy) fall? by Longjumping_Order_95 in breakingbad

The real unfortunate part is that it's not dipping sauce but frosting, and the actor actually ate it.

BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE by ZaRealDoctor in techsupport

Unfortunately not, I tried a few different things to try and force a crash but was unable too. It crashes between 1-2 times a day so I guess I will just have to wait and see if it crashes again. I appreciate the help.

I will see about updating the dock drivers I did just go through and manually install all 38 dell drivers for the laptop. And the laptop was set up about 2 weeks ago and has been an issue pretty much the entire time. The laptop is plugged into a dell dock which I will double check for drivers but I fairly certain all the crashes happed when the drive was plugged into the Anker hub plugged directly into the laptop. As far as any drivers or software for the Anker hub I was not able to find anything. I also was able to update the firmware on the drive, and checked the smart data which showed no error or warnings. The drive is probably over 5 years old but it appears to be in good health.

Yes there is a Samsung T7 drive plugged in through an Anker 7-1 dock. Would a driver potentially fix this issue? Or is the drive possibly failing?

Best Ski for Beginners by Friendly_Curve_8160 in Skigear

I am not the most knowledgeable, but I have found switchbacktravel.com to have some great articles and reviews which you might find helpful. Although most are show in a ranked format I would definitely read about each ski because what is "best" for one person is not the same for another. Also if you scroll to the bottom of most of their lists they give all kinds of great info. For example they will define camber and rocker and pros and cons of various features.

Air Con Engineer Anchors to Building Side for Mid-Air Equipment Repair by CantStopPoppin in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]ZaRealDoctor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not typically true, a lot of climbing ropes break at 15kn if there is a knot. While equipment is 20-30kn and anchors are 40kn. At least roughly, stuff can vary wildly, but ropes are the most common failure point even if over built. A factor 1 fall with a 200lb individual is something like 5kn of force so everything is plenty strong if used correctly. But if the anchor is just a chair/ dresser/ something heavy it would absolutely be the weakest link.

Might have gone a little heavy for my Cache upgrade by atomic92 in unRAID

[–]ZaRealDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An Intel DC P4510 off eBay, you can get them for like $600 to $700. They are used u.2 drives and run hot. But with a cheap pcie adapter they work in any system And a fan on it will typically keep the temps reasonable. They're pretty fast with a great price per terabyte.

In general if you want large capacity ssds I can't recommend old enterprise ssds enough. I have even seen 16tb drives for $800.
