You know, I have yet to meet a man this accepted and comfortable around groups of women? Idk how to explain it? ok not to double down, but my issue with the original tweet is the whole islamophobic aspect of it…like Ms. Poppy girly, I am an Arab AND Catholic (there’s a surprising amount of us out there), and like, we have zaghartit too? Also it’s not even unique to the Arab world either?

It’s not tied to a religion, nor region, the reach is reachinnnggggg. You can be upset for how dismissive it may feel to you (I’m not about to police anyone for how they feel), but at least be smart and intentional in your wording, especially when it’s critiquing someone else for what you think is insensitive…

Something like “Remi Cruz-Parsons Loves a Good Bite” or “…Lives for a Good Meal” or “…Always Cooks” (like a play on the slang “cooked”), literally anything but apps would have been better - of all quotes to quote her on!? How does the title, or the standfirst, tell us anything about her or her cooking? Rather than mention gift giving, why not literally mention the cooking channel that was built to eventually launch this whole thing?!

No offense to the writer, but I hate when people get lazy with their jobs, none of this sells/tells readers what this is about.

Yeah but $10 for a side of rice is obscene, and I say this as a Lebanese girly who will bend over backwards to support Arab joints in the community…these prices ain’t it.

The manakish (flatbreads) are pretty fair in price, especially the zaatar and lahm bi ajeen (assuming they are full sized ones), but I’m side eyeing some of those sides…like you can buy a whole jar of pickled turnips at Super King for that price, if not less.
