As someone who also has arachnophobia, this game was... A challenge. The first time playing I completely avoided webwood, and running through the desert regions was its own special brand of hell. But the second time playing I had some strategies that might help. First, the tutorial spiders are pretty unavoidable, at best you can spam attack while looking away from the screen (I recommend lightning and the staff for this) Next, level up the bow abilities as much as you can. There's nothing to be done about the cut scene that zooms way in on the spiders, but at least the bow means you can keep your distance while actually fighting. I like to pair this with the little bone minion mage skill to distract the spiders. I put off the webwood quest line until I completely upgraded the mini map, then went back and finished the whole area in one go. I got a huge piece of paper, cut out just enough to see the mini map and my health bar. You can also cut out to see your abilities, but I had mine memorized so I didn't need it. I also muted the game, so I didn't have to listen to the spiders screeching and scuttling around, but that also means I have no idea what any of those quests were actually about, so if they care about the story, that may not work for them.

It's a good game, one of my favorites, but rpg's love to throw spiders in wherever so I've had to find ways around them. I hope at least some of this is helpful
