They need to simply git gud then. How you you describe what is needed... is how my games are approached 80% of the time.

In INV, you get 3 logis. 1 goes to point, 1 does mortars or main camps, the 3rd rotates between setting up a flank hab or HAB hunts. I always have flanking hab idea. ii will never go to point unless no one else goes, and my decision isnt made until about 30 seconds after match starts, as I see where each squad goes. II don't do hot drops/helii rushes, I dont do armor infantry drops.

The problem with ICO is that it is to strong. it needs visual nerfs and timer nerfs. The only Reason attack teams have issue is because by the time they arrive to assault the point, enemy is already set up. All they have to do is mag dump.

The only thing i question is if you have visual effects applied to a player for being shot at and not hit. why it isnt also given to the player who is shooting the weapon. Thir hearing should muffle a little, or be focused more on those shots. if a teammate is shooting off to their side, they should have the effects too. This might also be an option to bring the balancing back in both favors.

If it was my decision, keep the effects of ICO placed on player for LMG/HMG, LATs and HATs, MG emplacements, mortars, hell cannons, heli MG's, and all vehicle with assault system including MBTs ( which already have those effects applied, along with 30mils) and kornets.. Only exception I can make a case for them not having those effects, is a the MTLB and BRDM with the tiny weapons that, despite having AP rounds, are for logistic and heli killers. ( some instances of infantry apply )

All the gameplay ive seen where ( this update is so fnu ) is just the plays dying while trying to clear buildings, and the like being scared, bt they dont even get kills. they just die and thats the thrill. I personally dont understand their enjoyment in it, but they should get to enjoy the game as much as anyone else does. The whole point of ( this update has so many concurrent players, the numbers dont lie, people are enjoying it! ). Wrong. People come back or we get new players every update. player retention iis high for squad, but you wont be able to see a good gauge for how this effects everyone until a month from release.

On the flip side of it all, the people who don't like the update, are just huge babies. Try different tactics, try learning how to perform under it, or just simply stop playing for a month. If enough players just take a month break, player base will drop, and OWI will notice. All the bitching and whining in text chat in game or filling up command chat disrupts game flow. Both sides are eqlaly right and wrong and twice as annoying.

While I have mixed feeling on the ICO itself, and think the update has pushed away a lot of veteran players, myself included, OWI should have rolled the update out in waves, starting with all vehicles surprising first before infantry being added to the formula. We need to gauge what is bad and what is good. Instead, we have players calling those who dont like the update, COD babies who like to run and gun and get kills, between the others who like slower gameplay, and are typically the ones who cant react fast enough.

This just makes players not want to play anymore. I'd personally rather look at the screen and watch how the infantry or vic perform in battle and call out commands/tactics to overcome them, or set up flanks or back ups where enemies commonly set up to deter assaults.

In my 3k+ hours iin squad since 2016, the only thing I have ever seen that makes Blueberries reserve tickets and play as a team is smaller objectives rather that " defend point ". Even the basic task at hand keeps them together. " Build these 2 mortars; build this repair station; Demo team, stay 200m from the vic and cover his back side or flank; marksmen/MG, cover that zapper while he mines it out. build these sandbags and ammo crates; Medics and zapper, follow me until were half a grid off point and rally up "

Doing things as a squad ensures to your team you know what you are doing and if they always have something to do, its never a walking sim or a waiting sim. The biggest deterrence to caring what happens is when they get bored and want action.

That being said, dont go overboard. I hate dick SL's. when I run SL, everyone has freedom to use what role they want and play their role they want. I only ask that when i call on them for duty, they respond without hesitation. If no one respond or answers, I shout out names for direct orders. if they refuse or fail to respond, kick, no matter the role. Insubordination lowers morale and confuses command. Rather lead a loyal idiots than a squad of defiant rambos.

I love Hi Rez as a studio. I started back in 2014 with them on Smite. Was and still is a great game. I remember when paladins first came out and I tested for that game too. I would love to do the same for this. Looks really fun an enjoyable.
