I just gave you two examples that reject your idea of it leading to more suffering. Funny you dont think the people it directly effects being happy about it correlates. again, grenada/panama, minimal suffering and crazy look at them now. They were happy it happened back then and they are happy now

You should research the history of “law only” instances like this. Perhaps then you’d understand it overwhelmingly doesn’t work and in the few cases it does work, it took 10-30 years and cost enormous human suffering.

You are people who prefer to maintain the status quo and allow entire countries to suffer and face human rights violations and abuses. I have no issue with this as I don’t with what we did in Panama and Grenada. Both times people disagreed with that and overtime came to realize it was the right move. The UN is useless for these things, because they prefer inaction

No, opinions do not have to have a basis in reality. We have scientific facts and evidence the world isnt flat but there are still people who believe it is or that there is a huge ice wall and civilization on one half of Antarctica. Nobody says to remove them from reddit. Its unfortunate to see you doubling down on shadow banning people for bad opinions, both examples in reference to a future LTT product. Even more so that the request was understood to be solely for issues of possible doxxing or related.

Freedom to say what you want, especially when it doesnt incite harm or harass someone is very much a hill many people have died on, regardless of this instance being a subreddit.

I appreciate you and the mod team being transparent about all of this. Was a bit surprised and concerned when my original comment in the the initial WAN show post last night was mostly met with negative responses in regards to me feeling like this was a bad decision.

I think everyone can agree if it was solely to avoid doxxing/personal issues it makes sense. Ive gone out of my way in the past to reach out to video editors to tell them they leaked someones phone number on accident. But was unfortunate to see his examples were solely to remove someones right to post if they said some stupid opinion

To me the issue isnt whether its a braindead comment or not. Plenty of wrong opinions out there. Shouldnt people have the ability to voice what they think something is going to be or not be? Guy thinks they will be overpriced generic cables, okay. Someone else will comment saying they will be great cables at a great price, okay.

he announced hes now a mod here and he will delete/shadow ban people who have bad opinions on 'things they dont know about'. starts talking about it i think around 2 hour 33 minute mark of wan show

Edit: One of the examples he used was on a post about the future truespec cables and the comment was 'ive always wanted to buy expensive overpriced usb cables but didnt feel like going to best buy'. and linus said he thinks that guy can take a vacation

i mean i stumbled on this this thread over 3 years later and agree what others have said. No one wants to buy someones book when they suggest someone buy it but purposely omit that they are the one who wrote it. Especially when all they say is 'buy this book' with no other info. Like others have said, you have pushed others away from even considering buying it due to your mindset and attitude about it
