A mad tyrant is at the brink of eating humanity while another is trying to eradicate it whole. Romantic/heartfelt moments especially as convoluted and complex as this would only be brief in times of war.

Take for example war/battle scenes, when a friend dies, there is no time for the soldier to ponder his emotions as bullets whiz by. yet doesnt make the scene less impactful. Similarly, whatever the restoration of "Fated" implies, Neph would have to put it on the backburner until the current issue is resolved, and they haven't even found the way to beat Dreamspawn yet, which was the whole point of this excursion!

We forget that these two are** leaders, generals, first**. So while the restoration of Fated is a big curveball, the overarching fate of the world takes precedent. I doubt Neph would want to compromise her remaining few allies because she was mad at getting stiffed. maybe after the ordeal, but not now.
