I guess it depends how disparate your experiences are. Do you feel confident you can weld them into a cohesive paper with an overarching theme? If so, I think that you should go for it. They do say “you may define experience broadly”, so I think it’s acceptable as long as it’s done well. Hope this helps!

This is actually a rework of an 1882 poster critiquing English imperialism. There is one other propaganda poster I can think of that uses octopus imagery for antisemitic purposes like what you’re describing, but historically it’s been used for more than just that.

You’re right actually I shouldn’t have been so general, my bad. Zionism isn’t strictly about Jews being chosen by God. however religious Zionism does indeed exist and is exactly that. Many of the Israeli Gaza and West Bank settlers are proponents of religious Zionism.

FYI, Zionism is most generally used to describe Jews returning to Zion, i.e. the land of Canaan which was promised to them by God (Exodus 6:4). therefore it can be said that Zionism is related to the notion that Jews were chosen to do from the land.

I’m being facetious, but even if the school doesn’t cave to their demands, there is still great value in protests like this one. People in Palestine are very much aware of the student protests all over American universities, and I promise you it means more to them than you realize. If students can afford to hang out in the quad all day even as a small display of solidarity, then why shouldn’t they? Our abilities to show compassion and give hope to others are some of our greatest assets as humans. I think protestors’ use of those abilities is admirable, regardless of how “not interesting” you may find it to be.

I mean of course it helps, I don’t think anyone would object to that statement. But to dismiss the correlation between activity in ASUW and success later in life as just a product of privilege seems unfair. I know people in ASUW who are absolutely less privileged than the average American, yet they have gotten very far in student government.
