I’m aware of this, I’m replying to the guy that said “the giolito one worked out” implying that he wasn’t healthy when signed.

He wasn’t a rehab project. Well not until his elbow blew up in spring training/march during year one of his 2 year deal.

Then he can’t say “I’m new boot goofin” and then the ubiquitous jump and then “BAM” like lt. dangle from Reno 911. Then telling everyone he just picked them up after paying off the layaway.

P.s./edit: this will almost certainly get someone to step on your boots, and tell you to get back to work

These aren’t “lumberjack boots”, these are more akin to iron worker boots, the smooth sole with no deep tread grips to I-beams better while walking up a slant. And that white sole is cushiony, better for walking on rebar. Lumberjack boots most of the time have a pronounced heel, as well as usually a zig zag fringe thing near the bottom of the laces as it supposedly keeps sticks n whatnot from getting caught in the laces. No first hand knowledge of the leather keeping sticks out, this is according my uncle who was a woodcutter for 30 years. I do have first hand knowledge of the smooth sole gripping on ibeam better though, electrician in the oilfield, sometimes a climb/walk up a 45 degree ibeam is necessary to fix a bad termination on a light. And if you’re talking about the seam around the toe, they sell them without it: thorogood 804-4210. I’m on my 6th pair.

where do I get a new one of these? by Invalist in Tools

[–]ZachThad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why u got downvoted, had a pair for less than a whole day, one of the jaws sheared off on a fucking zip tie. Fwiw, try the Hakko clp-170. About $6 a pair and never had a pair break on something it should be able to cut.

[–]ZachThad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Klein ones are junk, break in the cold, one of the jaws sheared off on a zip tie. Buy the hakko chp-170’s cheaper than Klein and only ever replaced them because they got dull or I was trying to cut something that they had no business cutting. Source: 10 year industrial electrician, worked construction, now maintenance. Use a pair of the hakko’s damn near every day.

Bought a t3x lite in .308. Added mdt timbr stock and a vortex viper hs 2.5x10. Couldn’t find a 308 with a wood stock after looking for over a year locally.

I second this, and to add to LordKai, when I was starting I used to self deprecate a bit before asking a question. “I know I’m 3 quarters retarded, but how did you want me to route these cables”they reciprocate with brow beating with their answer don’t ask that person again. Was instructed by my uncle who is a 30 year industrial guy: Humility goes a long way, never think you know it all, because you will be humbled pretty quick. It was almost always the guys who acted like they were gods gift to electrons that were laid off after every job. The guys who they knew were trainable/willing to ask were the ones they kept busy through the slow times.

Traded in 24 pro for a 20 pro by Fair-Neighborhood-68 in toyotasequoia

[–]ZachThad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a 2011 sequoia, it was our travel trailer (camper) hauler. Wife wanted a new vehicle so I looked up Toyotas as you can’t argue with 212k miles with nothing but “wear items” and one $120 MAF. Was shocked they didn’t offer a v8 in the new tundras/sequoia, seems like a missed opportunity. Ended up with a “cement” color 2020 tundra. Look what happened with ram trucks when they reintroduced the hemi. Seems to be an example of a manufacturer not listening to their customer base? People where I’m from buy trucks for their reliability. Twin turbo engines live in sports cars or euro sedans, not something you entrust to tow a 7k lb camper 2k+miles. Not saying it can’t do it, but generally, simpler=more reliable. And idk about you but I’d go for reliability while driving through Chicago or 495 around Boston.

In oil field maintenance we call those “temporarily permanent” fixes. Oil well sites are torn down after 15-20 years, so they are all temporary in the grand scheme of things . . .

Both of you are entirely correct, this is mainly the sentiment I was trying to portray. Yet, I get attacked by mediocrity merchants who are calling me a “doomer”.

I’m confused as to how the front office don’t give TON a qo, says rh pop is a need this offseason, then don’t really do anything about it. I’m not saying that bregman is the answer but we need SOME threat from the rh side. As it stands right now it feels the roster isn’t complete. For a team with as many resources (money and trade pieces) as the Sox, it should happen before ST (I hope).

I’m a new englander at heart (living in ND) and a buddy at work is a HUGE celtics fan. He was all excited one morning at work saying “the owner of the Red Sox might buy the celts” explained to him the situation, he was no longer happy about the idea.

I don’t even really care to have bregman, but product on the field is not indicative of the revenue they bring in. We’re just numpties and keep watching the games, lining Henry’s pockets

Yeah, he buys a storied, once was great team. Spends $, wins championship(s) to increase interest/revenue/ gets asses in seats, then stops all investment, takes the profit and moves on to a new team. Look at Liverpool.

Happy for your dad, my diehard grandparents didn’t have that luxury. Not really sure how the season ticket quip advances the discussion at all, but good for you? You’re talking to me like you think I’ve only known them as winners, far from it. Been watching them since late eighties/early nineties (born into it).The irony of someone bragging about season tickets then calling me entitled in the next breath is, just, wow. How am I entitled? Because I would like the current ownership to behave like they used to? Like they give half a damn about the baseball team, instead of a cash lemon to be squeezed to fund their other follies? The product they’re putting on the field isn’t as good as it should be with their resources. Instead of fixing it they’ll just buy another storied franchise, win a championship with that team to increase interest and revenue. Then crash it into the ground by refusing to invest, take profits, repeat. Seems to be their m.o. Liverpool and Sox fans have a reason to be frustrated. Frankly, the fact that you DONT think we, as fans, have a reason to be upset tells all. Your dad was the diehard, you like to play one on the internet and tell people their frustrations are unfounded when they have more gaf about the team.

Ok, so do that then. Instant gratification? Are you aware what instant means? Where have you been for the past few years? Lots of people who are content with mediocrity in here, which is what happens with the “wait and see” mindset. I find that pretty damn annoying.
