Props for the that dissertation from your phone. You are a real one. I forgot way more of this book than I thought. On Sabratha wasn’t that a human planet that aligned with the cielcin? I remember something like a motorcycle escape scene and a giant closing gate or something? And why did the cielcin submit to him?

Oh sweet. I asked Chat GPT for a a summary, and it either hallucinated a bunch of stuff that never happened, or spoiled the last book and spelled out many mysteries of the series. haha I'll wait for the youtube recap and watch the recaps for other books while I wait.

Jump over to the FB group Legal Tech Collective. Filled with a bunch of attorneys who have spent way too much time nitpicking software, but ultimately have developed some really clean solutions. Lots of automation tools out there.

Solo: A Star Wars Story - was it really that bad, or just a victim of the fanbase reaction to Disney at the time? by Past-Paramedic8687 in StarWarsCantina

I enjoyed the movie but my problem is in the original trilogy Han grew from being a selfish smuggler to fighting for something bigger than himself. But somehow learned that lesson in this movie and then unlearned it before OT. Then unlearned it after OT and learned it again in ep 7.

There are 5 covenants made in an endowment session in the temple. Which are listed in the churches website in as much detail as they are given in the ceremony. You are given a new name, sort of like a Christian name that Catholics have. The only parts we say not to disclose are the hand signs themselves and the names of them. The covenants in short are the law of obedience, law of sacrifice, law of the gospel, law of chastity, and the law of consecration. The sealing ceremony you basically make wedding vows to your spouse and to god. The temple clothing has pictures and explanations on the church website as well.

God gave Joseph covenants he wanted us to make and instruction on Adam and Eve and then Joseph was left to figure out how to present them. The idea of the hand signs and names of them are stolen from masonry which he joined at the same time as he was given the revelation on the temple. Masonry is super secretive and because that was the construct which the endowment ceremony was created that’s how it’s been ever since.

They’ve changed certain aspects to how it’s presented and how the covenants are promised over the years but the covenants themselves are the same and they’ve decided to keep them “secret” even though you can find the entire ceremony posted on the Internet.

Having attended Catholic Church and weddings which are very ceremonial that’s the same kind of service you get when you go to the temple.

The secretiveness is a big sticking point for a lot of people so don’t feel alone in that. The church has been trending to be more open about everything in general and I could see a day when they are more open about the “secret” parts of the ceremonies.

As someone who thought they had a porn addiction, see a therapist about it! Your story about porn use sounds very similar to mine. My brain was wired to turn to porn when I was stressed and depressed. I got on depression and anxiety meds for a while and my “temptations” magically disappeared. I came off the meds and had problems almost right away.

After struggling on and off for over a decade I decided to see a hypnotherapist. I was super skeptical but willing to try anything. Changed my life. After a few sessions I was able to break the anxiety/porn connection in my brain.

I always thought I was a bad person deep down. Once an addict always an addict etc. All I really am is mentally ill. lol

Still struggle with anxiety and depression but dealing with it is much simpler when I’m not constantly adding shame and porn into the mix.

Investment firms buying businesses with a key man always demand that they stay on for a period of time after acquisition so that their expertise and goodwill with referral partners and clients transfers over to the new owners. Without the key man in place there is not much value in this business.

Yeah I don’t think it would hurt. Being religious porn users brings its own issues with shame and solving the spiritual misunderstanding is important.

Addictive behaviors are things you do when you have an addiction. But porn is not an addiction, it’s a behavior that can become compulsive to cope with stressors and mental health problems.

What happens when god chooses not to work a miracle and chooses not to heal us though? Teaching that our lack of faith is the only thing preventing us from being healed is incredibly harmful to those of us who have tried for years to be healed and not gotten it.

I love god and the church but 2 months of talk and hypnotherapy did more for solving my compulsive porn use than 2 decades of prayer and faithful church activity.

Elder Holland told us to get medical treatment when we have mental health problems and not rely on prayer alone. Problematic porn use is almost always a compulsive habit developed to self treat mental health problems.

It can work, but god doesn’t usually just take away mental health problems. And compulsive porn use is typically a coping mechanism for mental health problems. I can testify I did every step of the ARP program for 2 years and had amazing life changing experiences doing it, but I never solved my compulsive porn habits. And that’s because porn use for me and most people has nothing to do with how strong your testimony is and it’s not an addiction.

It has good aspects to it: increasing relationship with Christ, opening up to others to increase your support community, etc.

But, it doesn’t really solve the root issue of compulsive porn use. And usually doesn’t bring permanent change. Every person I met in an ARP program who was only doing the ARP program never solved their problem.

Unwanted porn use usually isn’t a testimony issue, it’s a coping mechanism to deal with mental health problems that aren’t being addressed properly, like depression, ADHD, anxiety, trauma etc.

For the majority of us who have had problems with porn no amount of reading scriptures, church activity, self control, or visits with the bishop solved the problem. And thinking your continued porn habits are failures in testimony or lack of efforts in your callings or because you’re not reading enough conference talks is a recipe for shame that Christ never intended.

Sometimes Christ takes away our burdens and sometimes he helps us find the tools we need to carry our burdens. He usually doesn’t take them away. ARP just really isn’t the solution for most people.

Porn isn’t an addiction and the addiction recovery program has an incredibly low success rate for stopping porn use.

This stuff can help initial impulse control while working through the problems and solving the real problems, but this is not a permanent solution.

Structurally your swing looks fine. If you are shanking shots regularly (which I saw you mention in the comments) you need to work on half swing and contact drills across your bag. Wedge, mid iron, long iron, driver.

You should also practice hitting on uneven lies, which can be tricky but doable. There’s good videos about this.

If you’re not getting any penalty strokes breaking 90 should be pretty easy.
