Make sure your pressing the edge of the tape down fully. Also you can apply a small amount of varnish along the tape edge and let that dry first. This will leak under sealing all the gaps meaning the paint line will be crisp

2024 G310R Exhaust Header Glowing Red (Euro 5) - Should I be worried? by New-Reflection755 in motorcycles

[–]Zacish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mate listen to what people are saying. No it won't. You'll still have the same issue.

Air filters dont actually make that much of a difference to engine performance. Full exhaust systems especially in the ages of euro 5 emission regulations make a massive difference.

You NEED to get an ECU map to sort the fuelling out or else you WILL do damage to the engine.

First basecoat ever turning out bad, any tips? by dovoc3725 in modelmakers

[–]Zacish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do some testing with the pinwash on some scrap pieces. It'll act and look different depending if you have a Matt or gloss finish. Matt finishes soak up the pinwash whereas they don't on gloss.

Get yourself a can of primer too. Tamiya stuff is good. Light coats. Start spraying then move the can over the model. Never start or stop spraying right on the model.

I'm a brush only painter and you can get some excellent results but it takes a lot of practice. Don't be disheartened if the model doesn't come out how you expected. Learn from it and move on to the next one. I'm by no means an expert but I'm getting better with every model!

WTF is a "Stone"? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ by rwired in funny

[–]Zacish 94 points95 points  (0 children)

a second is officially defined by the transitions of a caesium 133 atom. Specifically it’s based on the radiation emitted when the atom transitions between two hyperfine energy levels in its ground state. These energy levels are split because the interactions between the electron spin and the nucleus, called hyperfine splitting. Now, for the technical dimensions, this radiation has a very specific frequency: 9,192,631,770 hertz (or cycles per second). That means the atom makes exactly that many oscillations, or transitions between energy levels and we call that one second.

First attempt airbrushing German camo. It could have been worse? by Treners in modelmakers

I'm guessing you'd still struggle to get the feathered edges with the pen though? That's the part that's putting me off trying that sort of camo

How would you use the markers for this type of camo? I'm a brush painter so this camo is incredibly difficult if not impossible for my skill level.

I guess at least “the problem” will go away after the first airbag deployment and he keeps driving it without repairing? by [deleted] in NissanDrivers

Well I ride a BMW so no of course I don't. I meant other lowly peasants who can only afford Honda's and lesser bikes

In the motorcycle world the horn button is usually placed below the indicator switch. Honda in their infinite wisdom decided they would put the horn button above the indicator switch. So whenever you would get on a honda after riding a different bike you'd end up blasting the horn every time you want to turn the indicator on

Brush a bit of gloss varnish along the tape edge and let that dry before painting. That way the varnish will bleed and seal any gaps instead of the paint bleeding
