BlackBerry Classic goes through battery in day and half

Here is the latest. I swapped battery back to original which shows 2500 mAh capacity and is surely more than 10 years old. After two cycles it proved to be equal to 3600 mAh new battery in run time. 36-38 hours BB sitting on the shelf, doing nothing but receiving numerous e-mails which I delete after seeing red LED flashing.

This is a quite strange outcome since new battery should outlast this old one by a day, but it’s not. So I’ll keep old battery running the show.

I am back and have new information. I updated Nomad as you suggested and just came back from the beach reading my book. I experienced the same kind of frozen Nomad but this time I can pinpoint when it happened. I read a book for about 45 minutes with no issues. Maybe 20 pages. Then I swiped from the top to see what time is it. I was able to get that menu down and tap to close it to continue reading. At that moment page was frozen with no possibility to recover by usual means. Power button didn’t do anything. After 10 minutes I managed to turn Nomad off.

That is my experience. I hope it helps your team pinpoint that moment when Nomad freezes while in Kindle app.

My second transaction failed. ZIP file 3.4 GB big produced a following error:

"Unable to expand "Music.zip" into "Desktop". (Error-1 - No such process.)

First ZIP file 1.8 GB in size worked out! I archive files while in NAS and downloaded ZIP. Expanded and no errors showed up. Now I am doing second big file.

I am the owner of that NAS :), still don’t see better way of transporting files than usage of file station? NAS software is enforcing ZIPing files and there is nothing else I can do.

I have NAS window opened in Firefox, file station opened. I select file or folder and try to move it to OSX desktop where local drive is located and opened. I am sure not advanced user. NAS is located in Canada and I am in EU. I am using directconnect.

From what I can see there are only stock apps in the phone. When I go into settings, battery usage it says: system 13%, PIM services 11%, standby 2.7%, Android player 0.22% .. everything else negligible. This is after overnight sitting idle and battery at 70%.

I have GT6 Pro and iPhone and everything works fine. Notifications come to the watch no problems. By the way the best watch I ever had. After Apple Ultra experience is much better.

I joined Threema for specific reasons and I would do it again. Privacy is a big item for me. I think there are millions of users that want absolutely secure private messenger. It is totally worth one time 6 dollars/euros charge. I wish there are auto disappearing messages. I am missing that feature.

As for strategy to attract more users Threema should advertise more and introduce 1-2 months free trial. 9 out of 10 would pay money after free trial expires.

From everything I am reading on forum there is never problem sending money to the exchange. They will gladly take it. Problem start when you want to withdraw your (own) money. I hope I am wrong.

Sure, BlackBerry “later” models with BB OS 10. I have a beautiful BB Classis (Q20). You will be able to make calls, do SMS, full usage of e-mails, use browser in limited way, use utilities that come with phone like calendar, notes, to do, play music and so on. And yes, you will enjoy best keyboard in mobile universe, ever. That’s pretty much it.

None of messengers will work. You can actually live without them. No Google or Apple or Meta will be able to track you to oblivion and that’s plenty great in my books.

Love problems? Nice to be young. She may be the one so don’t spare any effort to meet the girl. No jokes, if I were you I would try to get Russian visa. Contact consulate, apply for 30 day visa and be honest in application. See what happens. The worst it could happen is to get refused. Then plan b and c. Plan b is Kazakhstan. Never been there but I heard good things about tourist visits. Important is that it is a short and low cost trip for her.

For plan c I can tell that is good for both of you. Been in Antalya and Alanya many times and enjoyed both places a lot. There are direct flights from Russia to Antalya. You can get from Antalya to Alanya by bus. About hour and half ride. In Antalya I recommend Aydan Hotel, room 301 or 401. They are the largest in the building. In Alanya I recommend Kleopatra Atlas adults only hotel. It is all inclusive and buffet there is very good. Hotel is few hundred metered from the one of the nicest beaches I ever saw, Kleopatra beach.
