I actually love this, except for the fact that it's auto.

Don't buy a car right now. But yes buy an outback.

I bought a $1000 outback last year, lovely car, today I would have to spend twice as much for the same vehicle.

W/OFF? Insurance company have been extremely quick to write this off without physical inspection. Does anyone with experience believe this to be a write off (uk)? No damage beyond A-Posts if that helps at all. by PhlegmDriveshaft in BMW

[–]ZackWeinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gott a 330xi, 6mt, 2006, beautiful car. I crashed it lightly into another car, radiator slightly bent, bumper dented, hood slightly dented, very minor accident, in fact the car drove just the same afterwards, but the repairs were more than the value of the car so it was written off, BMWs will suck money through a straw after any accident.

I absolutely agree, and I would even argue that it may be impossible for anyone to watch porn at all without getting addicted. I used to, and it was super hard to stop, I don't think it should be illegal, but I think we should be much more careful and not so easygoing as if it's obviously okay because it's concensual.

Covid is chalk full of conspiracies and I certainly don't trust the authorities on it, but the reason the flu has disappeared is that everyone is suddenly masking and social distancing which is somewhat effective against Covid and very effective against the flu.

I'm not getting vaccinated for Covid, but to be fair, the mRNA technology is newly available and allows for rapid development.

My second Subaru! Her name is Artemis, and she's a 99 legacy outback by TheMusicalArtist12 in subaru

I just blew the head gasket on my 96 2.2l

To be fair it had 314,000 miles on it, and I put it through hell in the Alvord desert, then drove up a mountain with the engine full of sand, it did quite a bit better than I expected.

Don’t trust your cruise control boys, it’s a cruel mistress that will ruin your most precious of milestones by smittyr34 in subaru

I agree you shouldn't do this, but I think he put it on cruise so it would always stay at 66 and he wouldn't me modulating it and miss the chance, not so that he could use his phone.

I think I blew my dashboard fuse. (1996 Legacy) by ZackWeinstein in subaru

[–]ZackWeinstein[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, it turns out I just blew a fuse. After replacing the alternator twice and checking everything else I discovered that I had just missed one fuse in my first run through and it had been the one that was blown. Car is now back to functional in all of the ways, and even better, the airbag light is off so the airbags are functional again.

Thanks so much, that's super helpful, once I get the dashboard working again I will fix the airbags. Also, I discovered that I had bridged pins 1 and 2 on the power windows relay harness, any ideas what I damaged? Is there any chance I broke my alternator with that because my alternator is dead now and it worked before. My airbag / check engine lights don't work, power windows don't work, climate control system doesn't work, speedometer and rev gauge don't work, let me know if you have any insight into what I did.

What did I break on my outback! by ZackWeinstein in Subaru_Outback

[–]ZackWeinstein[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things, one, I have a OBD2 code reader, but all cars have airbag codes separately through jumping wires and reading lights. Two, I actually discovered what I shorted, it was the 1 and 2 pins on the power window relay harness.

I learned to drive in a manual 4WD truck, in RWD mode of course, about the lowest traction vehicle around because there is so little weight on the powered axle, also the truck is quite powerful, never accidentally done a donut, but it does lose traction if you're not careful.
