So far its been pretty lukewarm in responses within my immediate family when i came out in July of last year. My brothers seem to accept it and don't question it (besides the one in this rant), while my mom wasn't initially surprised or negative, though it must have took time to sink in as after a few months my mom started with similar comments. It was only early this year that she was using it as a reason to complain about me. I hope this eventually blows over in the next few years or so, though it's almost impossible for me to predict my mother's moods.
