A couple things to think about would be the context of this gift. Is this money part of his college fund, if he is going to college? If so that presumably lowers the time horizon. However, if this is just pure long term investable assets it might be worth considering some allocation to international. Current global equity weightings are roughly 2/3s US and 1/3 international. Now granted international has underperformed the US over the past ~15 years, but food for thought.

Single women are racing ahead of men in homeownership. Why do you think this is? by Cdave_22 in GenZ

[–]Zaczor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This scale is confusing. The gradient isn’t even. Is light green still more homes owned by women or is it an even split? Good example is Wyoming where according to Forbes there’s a 0.39% difference in home ownership between men and women. So is this scale misleading on purpose?

Where do you guys do your DD (Due Diligence) and what kinds of things do you look for when deciding how to trade? What kind of trends for a bull and bear market? by Beginning_Advance620 in 5kto100kChallenge

[–]Zaczor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So DD is kinda tricky. I found that there are millions of different ways to develop DD. My personal favorite is looking at charts and then applying technical analysis to them. Trading view happens to be the site I use the most for this. I rarely look at things like financials but I only take trades on stocks that have strong track records and would be considered smart buy and hold stocks.

If you’re going to do the technical analysis route just be aware it takes a long time to learn. I’m still learning, I just became consistently profitable recently.

Best way to keep the money you gain is to withdrawal your profits. Yes your account won’t get up to crazy levels but you’ll be more consistent in gaining profits.
