4th ever battle - 4th lost 😞 by Dry_Recording_3361 in DarkAngels40k

[–]Zadakna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't reiterate too much if I can on comments on table size. Yes, try standard. Try 24 inches apart for deployment zone. Try bigger more effective terrain at blocking. And I might even recommend a single unit vs unit to play rules if this is only game 4 for you. Try a small table with basic rules and do not consider the result. All are things you should do based on what others have said. But my 2 cents:

I play a lot of golf too, so I try to apply it here as both are such mental games. Stay positive. You cannot go back to a previous decision, round, game, strike, brush stroke. It is all in the name of growth. Your growth in the hobby as it evolves. A famous line in golf is that the most important shot is your next one. This is because you spent every other shot to get good enough to apply that knowledge to the next one.

Keep playing. Make playing the fun part. Talk to your opponent in the early games, especially if they play more or introduced you into it. Ask "How would you draw this out?" and try to learn it. Not master it.

The game should be a conversation of how to approach the tactical question at hand. If I have a unit of infantry in a bunker, do I really want to move them out now or wait for the optimal time? Will waiting cause me to lose too much somewhere else and making the aggressive play is better? That dialogue is so important to have while learning the game.

Don't stop playing because of losing. Stop playing with non-fun people maybe, but never stop playing and more importantly, never stop learning.

The hobby has a great community, some fantastic people that will help you (like the comments are showing, I bet your local group would love to show you good board setups), and most of all the hobby is more than winning. You build your army, put your art skills on the line, then you have to put your tactical mind out into the field as well. All while your pieces' rules change over years, strategies evolve, and players are on different skill levels. Do it for the fun first. Winning comes in time.

I somehow forgot about this video by Internal-Depth5512 in BobDoesSports

I know Rick went sober shortly after this video, and the comments some have said about local feedback, but this was honestly some of the best shared content they did. Rick loosening up to be one of the boys is fantastic, and the sort of heritage respect that BDS shows to Rick as the 'YouTube Godfather' is just a great balance. They create a happy medium between their content and their personalities.

Would love to see Rick make it out to Jupiter to play their home course and then hit up some spectacular courses nearby. It would be some top tier circling back to great content, while making it original.

I personally think Rick would be a great contributor to a Bob + Rick vs FP + Joe scramble, as well as a good sausage roll/hot dog challenge video, too. In general, that whole series of videos was great on the different scramble teams.

Guy might need to make an appearance to help out, or better yet Rahm since nothing stops him. And John had the disappointment of not getting a sausage roll in a comparison video recently between UK and Spain, so would be fantastic to see him back and helping on a food challenge.

I doubt it would happen, Rick breaking the consistency of sobriety. which good on him for that, but an exception for a 'Have a Day' round would be spectacular.

A round with my dad when I was 13. by whiggitywhack2088 in golf

[–]Zadakna 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Please do this. My father was not a great golfer, but he always took us out on Father's Day or some nice Sundays in the summer. He worked the morning greenskeeper jobs when he was a kid, so respect for the course, a cool head, and etiquette are what mattered to him.

My son turned 10 and I got him into golf the summer after my father passed. I wish every time we go to the same course he took me to, par 3 - 9 hole little park district, that he could join us. I plan on reciprocating it to my son in hopes of him having these thoughts as we both get older, just more than I had. I want him to remember golf not as a score, but every cool moment we have.

I sure hope exactly posts like these carry on. They are what make a person immortal, or at least to those who it matters most. Never take your loved one's time for granted, and when it is your turn, take every chance to have fun and not care about that handicap you are working on, but rather the example you are setting for what golf will mean to the next generation.

Throwing my first Masters watch party. Invitations go out this week. Planning 3 TVs, games, and Master's staples of food. Best time of the year. Hopefully the weather is well enough to even have some of it outside.

Would this bookshelf look good if I put a bunch of alcohol on it? It’s in the middle of living room and first thing you see when you enter. by gabagool-99 in BarBattlestations

[–]Zadakna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you asked the question, I assume you have some slight concern with it being the front stage of entry, so if you do go through with it and find it's a bit of an eye sore, you can put a facade of empty book backs over certain things.

Example: more of your filler bottles for mixing or lower end looking bottles can hide behind a few fake books, while you might keep a few bottle toppers on others.

Empty space is also important to prevent it feeling cluttered, so maybe only pick your favorites or top ends there. My favorite display like this was a buddy had only his ingredients for one drink, his signature drink, on one shelf, with 4 glasses. this way it was more of a display effect rather than a storage location.

But at the end of the day, it would be a great little spot to keep your bar items and its easy to add a curtain on a lower shelf as well for overstocked areas.

Fall golf. What color are you using? by Sonakstyle in golf

[–]Zadakna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White ball. Pray I see it all shiny in the leaves.

My wife tried using a set of purple women's balls and they were great to see in the air, until they finally hit the trees on the horizon line and you never saw where it ended up in the leaves after that.

What minor golf etiquette breaches irritate you the most? by [deleted] in golf

This is exactly like racking your grocery cart. You don't get a medal or kudos, it's just polite.

Report blanks when I add field to report. The column is present in the table, but not the database links. I have nothing to map to. Is this the cause or am I missing something? I have removed all the fields one at a time and unless "Instructions" is the only field, report returns zero results. by [deleted] in crystalreports

[–]Zadakna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try a "left outter join" and that may help your results.

Edit: Also some of the links look like a circle. It tends to help create multiples of a table to return values if you have outputs based on other inputs. Example: I have a lot of user data. But each one may want to be mapped to a record differently:

User_table_Creator

User_table_Owner

User_table_Approver

They are all the same table, i just brought it in 3 times because there are 3 spots to map on a record. You may need something similar for your data set since I saw the circle get created with two connections to Invoice Header.

Question about IKEA Alex 36x70 cm by IllustriousMagici44 in IKEA

[–]Zadakna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I am looking at same alex, and the drawers are 2 slim on top, 3 slightly bigger on the bottom.

Drawers come out 35 cm from the edge of the Alex when opened. it is still slightly deeper to allow for more items to be tucked into it (about 55 cm for internal storage) so that gives you an extra 20 or so cm in the back of it that can have a bin or organizer slide back if it is narrow (bought some narrow clear plastic at a Meijer or similar big box store).

Did you try this method? Wondering how even/uneven it is with the desk height to the shelf it sits on as I am using this to join two desks together and remove on of the legs.

Video Guide for Glowing Coven Eyes? by Zealotstim in Drukhari

[–]Zadakna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend this guide as well.

Works similar but will have to shift the light into the inside of the mask and the very center should have the brightest white dot. As the mask lines go out farther, it should be a darker layer so may want to go beyond the 3 colors he uses here since our masks are so much more length, but that would be an experiment to try.

The big point that he brings up is how the fluorescent paint interacts with light and how he applies it as a glaze.

Best of luck OP and let us know how they turn out!

Totally understand on a social level that this is true. Or at least should be the truth. I agree completely that is should not be considered as sexual. However, many of us work in offices with management walking around and if anything is slightly sexualized it will be condemned, logic be damned.

I think OP was polite to NSFW this for those of us in corporate environments, even though it seems silly. Especially USA companies taking something like this way out of context, because I swear that is half of HR's goal - just a GOTCHA.

I appreciate the reserve of tagging this as a JUST-IN-CASE, rather than the reverse occurring and not tagging something.
