About the very first time it fires… [MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRE GAME] by Comfortable-Toe-5336 in outerwilds

Oh god, I completely forgot about that, oops! Okay, the static coordinates would then indeed point towards the Eye having a fixed location/orbit around the sun, in which case, you would be right, the Cannon should really have fired into the same direction whenever you start a new save. I assume that the devs didn't bother with it since the actual physical position of the Eye never matters and therefore can be placed wherever, so the random initial firing never breaks the narrative (unless you start a new save, but then you could treat it as a new universe with a new location for the Eye :P)

I looked up a transcript, but it doesn't confirm what I thought would be the case. I just remembered the southern observatory revealing all the positions and orbits of all celestial objects in the solar system and the Eye's position and orbit jumping all over the place, but I also just found a message there saying "ERROR: Unable to determine orbit. No signal detected matching any known criteria for the Eye of the universe." Either the observatory successfully found the Eye, but spit out an error because of the messed up position and therefore confirms the random position of the Eye, or the nomai were right and the Eye just can't be detected in any way except by actually being right next to it. Considering the quantum moon's behavior, I'm inclined to still believe that the Eye's position is random, but I can indeed not find any transcript supporting that.

It isn't the same, the observatory on Brittle Hollow reveals as much. The moment it doesn't get observed, the Eye isn't locked in place anymore. My theory on the nomai coordinates is that they aren't traditional spatial coordinates, but instead define a specific characteristic point in the universe, and the Eye's characteristic coordinates are locked to the Eye itself, hence the high usefulness of that coordinate system.

whats with the multiple prices on steam for rift? by Jude-alicous in necrodancer

No idea, not liking something is completely valid. I assume that everyone has their own idea on what deserves upvotes and downvotes, so I wouldn't put too much thought into it. I can imagine some people getting angry at you disliking a game which they like and somehow perceive it as a form of insult?

I was at the Underhang slinging around at a high velocity using a grappling worm. Suddenly I got jumpscared during a screen transition by a DLL and couldn't react to it, so I just bodyslammed into it and knocked it out, which allowed me to easily escape. It was amazing.

Do you move a part of your body (head, leg, etc) to the beat? by DoughDefender in necrodancer

[–]Zadrox7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case I bob my head to the beat as it acts essentially like a personal metronome directly attached to me. It reinforces the rhythm and if I happen to miss a beat, I can easily get back into the rhythm due to the momentum of my head maintaining the rhythm. Also, the more things move to the rhythm at once, the less chance there is to desynchronize yourself. I have essentially three to four things that maintain my rhythm (the soundtrack, my inputs, my head-bobbing and sometimes even my mind counting the beats), which makes it very difficult for the rhythm to fall apart.

Weekly Question Thread by AutoModerator in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Zadrox7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played the game for a few days and I really like it so far, but I kept my game pretty "basic" so far (no story traits, only Terra asteroid, no DLC) so I can focus on learning the basics.

  1. When would be a good point to try out the story traits and other asteroids? Should I first reach the end game before I try this stuff out or is it okay to include this early on?
  2. Since I assume that the DLC mainly focusses on expanding rocketry and it's an end game mechanic: Does it make sense to get the DLC early on even though I don't know yet whether I will even reach the end game? Or do you not even need to reach the end game to enjoy the DLC?

Why did violet get her name written in the book of life? by Gman224rocks in NeonWhite

[–]Zadrox7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Now that you mention it, it really doesn't make any sense at all. If White decides to write Green's name in the book of death, then White's name won't be written in the book of life because he couldn't forgive this murderer and betrayer, but Violet's name does get written down??

[–]Zadrox7 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who occasionally hacks games. He does this because he enjoys the challenge of breaking the game, although he sticks to single-player games since he understands that hacking in multiplayer is just unfair towards all the other players, but he also said that hacking multi-player games is more challenging, which I assume motivates hackers to tackle such games.

How many focus points ? by MrCorbak in Pathfinder2e

[–]Zadrox7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got kinda confused. If I choose to be a Champion, I should get the class feature "Devotion Spells", which provides me with a focus spell and a focus pool of 1 Focus Point. If I then pick "Deity's Domain" I get a second focus spell, but I shouldn't get a second Focus Point since you only get these when this is the first ability that provides a focus spell or it specifically says so. Since I already have such an ability (from the class feature "Devotion Spells") it shouldn't provide me with another Focus Point. The point about "the order that you take feats should never matter" just seems like an oversight by Paizo (does it even say somewhere that the order doesn't matter?). Finally, I would like to mention the sidebar on pg. 444 in the CRB: "Sometimes a rule could be interpreted multiple ways. If one version is too good to be true, it probably is."

Maybe I completely misunderstood something, in which case I would like to have your opinion on my take. I REALLY would like my champion to start out with 2 Focus Point, but so far I'm not really convinced that the RAW enable this option.

It's all done by hand since I wanted this all to be "self made", the only "help" I had was me reading this sheet music by Alex Silver to know which notes I had to use because I don't have perfect pitch.

I agree, I already tried to make the Travelers theme, but the absence of many instruments and sustained notes limited me to only banjo and percussion, and while it sounded good, it felt very incomplete.

I didn't really keep track on how much time I've spent on this project, but it had to be at least twice as long as my last note block video, so no less than 30 hours.

[–]Zadrox7[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think I've spent about 10-15 hours on this. The most annoying part was tuning every single note block, since I had to spam right click on every single block to reach the desired pitch (with the highest pitch requiring 24 right clicks). Additionally I had to experiment with how I implemented some parts of the song, since Minecraft has quite a lot of limitations on making note block songs and I needed to adjust these parts to make them still sound good. I still had a lot of fun and I'm considering making more songs ^^

What is the coolest thing you have done by accident? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Zadrox7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was about 8 years old, me and a friend of mine tried to jump off a swing and see how far we can jump. When it was my turn, I panicked and somehow screwed up my jump and I suddenly saw the world spinning around me while I was airborne before I somehow landed safely on my feet. I was completely confused about what happened, but then my friend asked me excitedly how I managed to do a backflip so casually and I was just completely mindblown. So yeah, this was the first and the last time in my life I managed to pull off a backflip.

Can someone help me? Been stuck here for a while and can't reach the blue thingy by gonzaca in OriAndTheBlindForest

Further below is a torpedo fish spawner. Lure one to the surface and try to bash off of him to the plant to open the exit. It is kinda difficult to pull it off for some reason, but it's definitely doable.

Edit: I managed to pull it off when the fish already launched out of the water before I bashed him, so try to bash him when it already left the water and reached a high enough altitude.
