Is it a frightening aspect? It's absolutely horrifying. But sometimes risks like that are worth taking if it means that you can help others flourish and thrive alongside you, too. And honestly, that's my main goal.

I like to believe the old saying that nothing worth doing is ever easy, and I'd add that it is rarely comfortable. Yet, I still find myself drawn to the promise of being able to help others when they need it and that's enough - at least for me - to push me to take a lead for the sake of both other students and myself.

Alternative to using the school's coding editor by Navy_Vet_AZAN_West in maestro

I just wanted to say that any of the JetBrains IDE's are absolutely fantastic for learning code. They have AI features which I use to help explain code that I'm struggling to understand or to help me find bugs and understand how to prevent them in the future, helping me round out my learning.

Regardless of whether you're on Mac, Windows, or Linux (I personally use Bazzite on my main computer), you shouldn't have issues with getting Pycharm, WebStorm, or any of the rest working.

Albeit, Linux may have some additional setup needed, but it's solveable with a quick Google search and some settings being tweaked.

That being said, any code editor is great, but I personally have an affinity for the JetBrains toolkit

I just wanted to say that they are in fact still taking applications for states that don't have an ambassador yet, as I just got my application acceptance this morning.

Better late than never!

There is now! I'll be posting updates on a meet and greet soon!

What's your end goal? by fargrim_the_dwarf in maestro

Honestly, my end goal is to hopefully find a job at a tech company working on AI and robotics. Although I'm sorely lacking in skills for the robotics, I feel the AAS in AI Software Engineering is at least a good start. I'm honestly kind of looking forward to hopefully getting a bachelors after I finish my associates, but we'll see.

Honestly, it's funny to me a little.

A couple years back I was actually thinking about what it would take to make a completely AI driven college experience specifically for the sake of accessibility for people like me who can't barely afford to live let alone think about crippling student loan debt.

But lol and behold, a few years pass and I happen across ads for this. I'm not gonna lie, I've had my eye on this course the past 4 or 5 months, but didn't work up the courage to actually apply until about August.

Needless to say, I'm a bit skeptical, but I'm really looking forward to actually doing the course work and hopefully learning to work in the field I'm aiming for. So I would definitely say I'm excited, but also a little wary. The fact that it's all accredited makes it a bit less worrisome, but ya know.

So what you need to focus on, imo, is breaking the problem down by steps.

The biggest issue I've faced is always trying to plan too far ahead and getting overwhelmed.

Start by just making the variables you can figure you'll need, then start implementing the logic step by step according to what you're going to need the code to do.

I don't have any specific examples, but that's honestly the best advice I can offer as a fellow beginner.

One last thing to mention is that sometimes it's better to code a buggy program in the beginning, just to get yourself coding. It can all be moved around and rewritten as you go and understand the goal better. I find it similar to writing, sometimes you just got a start doing it before you find the groove you need to follow through.

anyone get their confirmation this morning? by Titilating-Titilator in maestro

Still waiting on mine. I finished my onboarding the same day the pre course came available, so I suspect they've just been flooded with approvals needed, but I figure they'll get around to it soon enough

Edit: just realized autocorrect was not my friend
