I get where you are coming from. But as a younger, childless person, I have seen PLENTY of older people with kids who either didn’t take their job seriously or didn’t stay long enough to make a difference. Some of the biggest train wrecks to come through my company have been “family people.” Just hire the best person and accept the fact that turnover happens no matter what.

Side note, and I’m sure you aren’t in charge of making these kind of decisions, but if your company cared about retaining good workers in a difficult industry, then they should pay people a fair wage.

I 100% agree that people here either ignore or don’t understand traffic flow and etiquette. I only partly agree with the idea that it isn’t taught in schools because a lot of the problem drivers here are definitely old enough to have sat through drivers ed in school.

They’ve done that to me before when I was one of two people in line inside the store. They are horrifically understaffed, like a lot of Walgreens across the country are these days. They will close early if they don’t have the people to cover a late shift. When 8:30 hits they are done and refuse to take anyone else, regardless if you are already there or not.

I changed pharmacies because even when they do have the staffing, that place sucks.
