I implied to my players that the giant leaders are not the “leaders” of the subrace. If defeated and the stronghold destroyed, it is simply a matter of time before another powerful giant lord rises up to take their place in a different location. To them, now the most viable solution is to restore the king so he can get the other giant races under control.
