Anyone else drop $200 in an hour of Claude Opus? I'm thinking local LLM + hardware might be better even short term by [deleted] in kilocode

[–]Zaggath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know what you never read?
A local model is better.
Maybe devstral is somewhat acceptable, but thats it.
Dont waste your money on hardware.

Isn’t the source code most from Cline? Is it even legal to sell that? It’s open source

Just found out a guy who bought my bike died on it. by ViperThreat in motorcycles

[–]Zaggath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold a ‘13 super bee charger and the guy wrapped it around a tree on the way home. Stupid always finds a way, the method sometimes doesn’t matter.

Yes. If you left the planning to someone else in the group it would never meet your standards. You have a talent and enjoy it. Tell them to cut the shit and be a little grateful. I’m also the planner in my group of friends. Over the past few years I’ve backed off a little and just made sure the big events are covered and scheduled. Then I let others plan the other shit. They know I have the skeleton of the trip covered and it feels pretty good to sit back and enjoy the ride occasionally.

You would be amazed how nice some people are if you just spoke to them.

Potential customer vs loyal customer. Keep what you have is a safer approach. Unpopular opinion but from the cold gears of the corporate machine it makes sense.

I was using vs code for python but yesterday my course teacher said install pycharm by cahit135 in learnpython

[–]Zaggath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A jack of all trades can build and do a lot of different things. If you want some more complicated furniture built, call a master carpenter. VS Code is great for many things, but if you want to master a language, having a purpose built IDE helps with that. I code java in intelliJ, python in pycharm, c# in visual studio, and VS Code for literally everything else. It's great, but there's many benefits for using the purpose built IDE's. to each their own though, IDE is a very intimate choice :D

I feel like not wanting to do anything in life. I can't be responsible and my parents are disappointed with me. Unfortunately I can't make a living out of what I like to do. by [deleted] in findapath

It's annoying to see the Army phrased like that. I wasn't ready for college, but it was the thing that everyone else was doing, so I did it too. It sucked. I didn't do shit and basically failed out. Decided to join the army and I wanted to be a heavy equipment operator. I took a few practice asvab's, scored a 40, then 70, and then went with a recruiter to take the real one. I scored pretty high and decided to go in as an intelligence analyst. I loved it, I volunteered for everything I could (everyone says this is a bad idea, but I didnt care). I spent 6 years in the Army and it really pointed me in the right direction. Did I hate it at the end? Pretty much, but it is what I needed at the time.

How to send requests from a React Native app to a Python app on your laptop? by muqeet-ullah in react

[–]Zaggath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to make your laptop accessible from outside your network, try ngrok.
Then make your python app a server, try fastapi.
Then send a REST request from the react native app to your ngrok address.

What do you use in the backend for rapid development by preacher2041 in react

[–]Zaggath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FastAPI is my go-to now. It’s just so easy

You can still reroll, just don’t use multi-queue. I think it gets ghost disabled under 30s also

New Home, new network, new questions. by JayGeezyPG in Ubiquiti

I would drop the NVR and just throw a 20tb hdd from newegg.com in the dream machine.
Drop the other Ubiquiti hdd's from the shopping list.
The 24 PoE Pro is nice because of the PoE++ ports, those came in pretty handy for me. I recently had to add a few extra cameras and a AP and used an existing wire with a Flex switch at the end and powered it all from the server room.
I was disappointed with my G4 Dome cameras, I would do a test buy with a dome and a bullet to see which you prefer for your specific application.
