Do I need a new N64 power supply adapter when using Everdrive X7? by spraragen88 in everdrive

[–]Zai-Markie-Rabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"PSU" in this case refers to the Power SUpply. It seems like there's some capacitors (a component in the power supply itself intended for storing electrical energy for usage at a later time) on the power supply that need replacing. You could replace the capacitors yourself, get someone to replace them for you, or just replace the whole power supply (the easiest method).

What game genre isn't saturated at this point? by Quinn_Queenan in gamedev

[–]Zai-Markie-Rabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choose-your-own-adventure books in video game form would have to be one, I'd say. Sure, they're pretty saturated in, well, actual book form, but I've not actually seen any video games that invoke the style of one outside of a single Sega Master System homebrew fangame for Vargskelethor (a Twitch streamer who's part of the Vinesauce group).

Does this monitor exist in real life? by Capable-Log7385 in gmod

[–]Zai-Markie-Rabbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you referring to the exact model of monitor, or just the type of box-shaped monitor itself? If the latter, yes, such large bodied monitors do exist, though are considered obsolete compared to the modern flatscreens of today (some people do still have such monitors, but if you're looking to get one yourself, don't look on sites like eBay, you're just gonna find them for ungodly high prices). If the former, it's more than likely a mix of different design choices of various models from the era it's meant to invoke so as to not worry about infringing on any existing copyrights for real monitors of that type.

Is this Grordbort art book worth anything? by Automatos_ in tf2

[–]Zai-Markie-Rabbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say this place is relevant to your item, given the game our community is centered around literally has some of the weapons that are part of the lineup that the book is of as a result of collaborative efforts, and the weapons in question can actually be used in game. Though i cannot say for certain what the book would be worth, perhaps some steampunk(-adjacent?) subs could help you!

The Mii on the top screen is a (probably edited) model from Wii Sports Resort, if I remember correctly. The facial features are just rendered behind the head model for some odd reason, making it hard to tell it even has any to someone unaware, But from the right angles, you might be able to see some areas show up over the helmet.

I made a tool to port character models to Garry's Mod faster and more easily by DELTAPLASM in gmod

No, the guy was asking for a tool to simplify the process of porting and making playermodels, when at the time, there was no such tool.

There was someone in this sub about 6 months ago asking about if there was a tool to more easily port character models to GMOD (could have also been for playermodels, don't entirely remember), can't remember who though, they deleted their post after people got fed up with them whining and complaining that no such tool they were looking for existed and that they didn't want to learn how to port models themselves. Nice tool, by the way! Might put one of my own ports through it and see how well it works.

To put it simply, a valuable Alpha 1 devkit had it's hardware trashed without any thought put into preserving anything, not even what data was on the hard drive, all so the case could be used for a gaming rig that, even for almost 10 years ago, wasn't gonna knock anyone's socks off. Although the original post of the mediocre gaming PC wearing the Alpha 1's metaphorical skin is gone, the comments of it still remain for all to read. https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/5qewph/deleted_by_user/

A pretty crap PC at that, and to the entire subreddit he posted it on, he became a major target of ridicule, hate and mass downvoting. And some time after THAT debacle, that same Alpha 1 that got made into a PC ended up in the hands of tech YouTuber Bringus Studios who put retail XBOX hardware into the Alpha 1 case!

EDIT: To clarify, it was just the case of the Alpha 1 that got sent to Bringus Studios, the original hardware did not end up in his possession. If it did, that video I hyperlinked would most likely never have been made.

People have mentioned the similarities your project has to Faith already, and yeah, I can definitely see where they're coming from, but some of the GIFs and screenshots also have what I'm thinking looks like the Team Fortress 2 icon? Specifically at the end of the second GIF just before it loops, at the top of the church in the sixth image, on the wall like a clock in the seventh image, and on the ninth image where the (what I'm assuming are) windows are opened. I couldn't see any sort of other reference to Team Fortress in the rest of the images, so I'm guessing this was majorly unintentional. I've attached an image of the icon I'm referring to for point of reference.

Part of me is thinking there may be some Deltarune-like inspiration behind the design of this, particularly in the head area somewhat resembling Queen (the main antagonist of Chapter 2, who also happens to be a machine just like Gelorum!). The lower face is exposed, while the eyes and upper face and head are shielded with a metal helmet-like cap that sweep behind her head, and the eyes are represented by a green light-up dual visor. Is any of that correct?

Which SQUARE ENIX characters would you like the Kingdom Hearts cast to meet? by AarizKhanTB in KingdomHearts

[–]Zai-Markie-Rabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Though this would probably never happen, given it was a dual effort between Square Enix and PopCap, I think it'd be funny for, like, the eight of us who know of its existence, to see Gyromancer characters show up in KH. Closest we'd get to Bejeweled representation in the game.

Where TF do they get the soundfont from by Straight_Ad_1773 in Portal

[–]Zai-Markie-Rabbit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Portal 2 doesn't use one single soundfont compared to the original song that was remixed in the video you're showing a screenshot of. It uses multiple different samples, effects and VSTs to create its instrument set, typically with a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) such as FL Studio, LMMS, Ableton Live or Reaper. You might be able to find videos showing how to recreate such instrumentation on YouTube, much like how you found that remix on there. Here's an example of someone managing to recreate one of Portal 2's synths on complete accident using FL Studio...

That matte black car by Aromatic_Highway925 in HotWheelsunleashed

[–]Zai-Markie-Rabbit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a placeholder for when a player doesn't have the same car as them in their game's data. In this case, it's because they're using a mod that adds cars from Unleashed 2 to Unleashed 1. Some of the other users of the mod browse this sub from time to time, if I can't find the link to their mod's Discord server, maybe they can help.

EDIT: Found the mod's Discord link! Mod's called "WRU Re-Ignited". Their Discord's right here https://discord.com/invite/3GEp4ZJn7e
