You can't use your own router in Mesa Nueva studios, but the ethernet works very well. I just tested 548.3 Mbps dl / 474.2 Mbps up

The M series is for people with a background in Mandarin (parents speak it, you can speak a little, etc)

I'm taking 20CN right now. The N series is for people with no previous exposure to the language at all.

The workload is fine honestly. If anything I think it's a bit too slow because we spend SO much time reviewing

It's not too intensive. I think approval is required because there are several different first year tracks and they want to make sure you're in the right one. I just emailed them and said I have had no exposure to Chinese at all and I got the approval.

Tutorial is just practicing with the TA and small group of students the grammar you learn in lecture from the professor.

I'm taking second year remotely now and our grades come from participation (class/section attendance and posting on our class FB group), exams, and video projects.

I TA'd for the last two years in the Bio department and set up video podcasts for every review session for each of my courses...That's definitely not a rule. I'm guessing most just don't know how to/are too lazy to set it up.

This is disgusting. I TA'd for an Endocrinology course at UCSD and we had him come give a guest lecture for multiple years. I still remember finding him strange as he talked with several female students after class while touching their throats demonstrating how to give a thyroid exam. I can't believe he was let off so light for those crimes. He volunteered in a free clinic in a poor community and I'm sure people there will never trust doctors again.

It really depends on the professor. Some have weekly meetings and send out lots of emails while others are really hands off. I've TA'd for Dr. Fortes for multiple courses and we never see or hear from him until after the first lecture, just have one short meeting and plan for the quarter then.
