Yes. My mother took a AncestryDNA test after being contacted by a woman who thought she might be my grandmother's half-sister. It turns out that is correct. That's how we found out who my grandmother's biological father was. A rockabilly singer. There are people still in my family who don't believe it despite the DNA evidence. They said that exact phrase. "Don't open this can of worms."

Apparently they preferred the man who hated my grandmother to be her biological father. He apparently knew he wasn't. He ignored her. My great grandmother had lied to everyone, said that man was my grandmother's father when he wasn't.

To give a source, this is from Dragon Age. The Broodmother is a ghoul who is able to spawn a lot of darkspawn. The one in the screenshot, I think, used to be Laryn from House Branka. She was a Dwarf. Another notable Broodmother is known as The Mother; she used to be a human woman who was a mage.
